This is why we need jumping/falling system in FFXIV

When was the last time you fought a Peiste in real life or ran 082423024 miles across the desert and threw a hologram in the air at a magical crystal that spawned monsters? And when was the last time you instantly teleported to the other side of the world, costing you only 3 anima?

Look listen the only reason players want jump is because wow and every dumbass wow-clone have jump. Final fantasy never needed jump if it a control type jump that only spot you are allow to jump then i understand but free jumping i do not agree.

@Evangela let's start by i hate sports hate seeing sport hate going to see a spot. I went to college for IT i eat well and sleep well the only reason i don't go outside is because it FL hot like hell i have no money and can't find a job in my city but trust me if i had a job i wont be here right now. So think about the person before you talk i was not being rude there just no need for a free jump maybe a control jump like i said only spot you allow to jump or area you allow to jump that make more sense to me and for all we know that what SE is going to do,

You listen, I want jump because it's better than running into a stupid wall 409238409242 times a day instead of being able to climb or jump up it. I want jump because it's a valuable asset in exploration and traversing the game world.

So the arguement against jump is that 'its always been that way, so it should stay that way always'? Wow, how lame. If thats how we did things in the world and our lives too we wouldn't even be here. Oh yea that goes for the game as well. I'm sorry but nothing stayes the same. FFXIV can evolve, or go extinct. The 2011 mmo market is not like 1980's when the first ff's came out. Sorry to break it to you but this is an important feature and you crying you don't want it cause it breaks your immersion or FF has never had it or its just not 'final fantasysque' is a rubbish arguement.

I'm not for or against it, I'm with Captaindownsyndrome on the dont-give-a-shit boat. However, I do see it being more useful than not.

Its just a matter of how its implemented. Whether it be manual or by action-command.
