Sometimes its a good thing to have "toxicity" and other negative traits

It all boils down to the same entitlement to do/demand something to the detriment of others and it usually only benefits that one person.
It's a red thread that goes through the entirety of the forum and all of NA and the other DCs, though to a lesser extend.
"I want", and "me me me", for the instant gratification.

Like playground bullies throwing a tantrum because they haven't gotten to swing at right this very moment, so they start to shout and hold the chain/rope of the swing until the others budge. Or a fight starts.

For me, it really depends on the context.

If you're just going to needlessly slur because someone didn't do as you wanted them (or expected them to do) and not actually be useful about it whatsoever...? then, nah..

But IMO, if you're going to call something out, and either link to a guide, or actually give some useful information -- Then this I can get behind -- I also don't think this is a toxic or negative trait (Nor do I think it's good to frame it as such)

I agree, it's all about presentation and context. True story, when I was learning Black Mage I had a tank rudely call me out in the middle of the run, and my first thought was "F*ck you, I don't tell you how to tank, don't tell me how to play BLM." I found out later when I was bitching to my FC mates about it that the tank was *right* and I did need to work on my technique for the job, but rudely telling someone to 'git good' just makes them defensive or angry.

Since that time I've gotten and given advice, and 100% of the time if it's offered politely, it's either ignored or accepted. I've never been called out for it or been told that I'm 'toxic'.

If someone ignores you, there isn't much that can be done about it. Sometimes you need to learn to pick your battles.

in my experience other groupmembers get more angry over my advice than the person my advice is for. 'protecting' the poor litte newbes. great community btw

the new players who dont accept it mostly ignore it, ignore the chat itself or just dont respond. (which can have different reasons)

people will see it as toxic when in reality you are just giving advice or a way to refine they're playstyle

If the person doesn't want to be better at the game, it doesn't matter how much advice you give. Just blacklist him and move on.
