Am I a "positive toxic fanatic", or I want the "game to die", 'cuz I can't be both.

But don't you worry your pretty little head. People who thrives in the social aspect of the game, and people like me who get entertained by any sort of casual content as if that were the jiggling of keys before my eyes, will keep the game alive until the people who understands that taking a break in between xpacs it's a good idea, comes back.

This is the dumbest take possible. I want a game to give me a REASON to play. FF14 currently provides almost zero reason to play. It's the exact opposite end of the scale, which is not a good thing.

You have plenty of reasons to play when the xpac comes out and when the content you want to do it's released, after that, it's ok to take a break.

I swear... why you want to be chained to the game so badly? Why you want shallow FOMO to keep you funneling money into it??

No, the game won't die because a slow season in between packs despite of what the doomsayer keeps preaching, that is a normal thing between packs. For a company to abuse FOMO you keep you around is not a good thing.

Nah... padding gameplay time via large amounts of cutscenes, some of which on their own are quite long, isn't respectful to a player's time either.

Respecting a player's time means to have actual engaging and entertaining gameplay that does not require having to commit large amounts of time into each session.

With the way the patches are now, the "just take a break" lines start coming out a WEEK after patch, if not sooner. It's ridiculous. What are we paying a monthly sub for?

I don’t want to be chained to this game 24/7 I want to have a reason to log on for more than 1 day every 5 months considering I have to pay for the expansion itself on top of paying a monthly sub I don’t always keep up

Seriously it’s been what 4 years since these concerns started in ShB and you people still can’t understand nuance

Me? To hang out with friends, to do the most casual of contents, to simply unwind after a long day of work.

Others? It seems they remain subbed to simply dread the fact that they feel they have to stay subbed and then complain about it. In which case, it's better to take a break.

First and foremost, I wasn't here 4 years ago, so save it with the "you people". But I will point out that if these complains have been going for so long, clearly, it hasn't killed the game to have a draught in between xpacs.

Second, if you need a reason other than chilling in a videogame, a leisure activity, then again, I feel you're approaching things in an odd way.
