I like how the game currently is. If you do not and 7.0 doesn't make changes you like then why keep playing? You can't make everyone happy. I used to love swtor and played it non-stop for years. Guess what I no longer play because of changes I didn't like? Some people love how swtor is now and that's perfectly fine. I no longer do so I stepped away. No point in continuing to play something that is no longer fun.

We're at a stage where it's impossible to tell if this is a joke or fully serious.

Your signature makes it clear, but considering that mod archives have an astonishing 49k+ mods, making this 3rd most modded game in history, with Mare having supposedly 20K online users at any given time, it's safe to say that significant amount of players could say what you did with a straight face.

I feel it is safe to say 7.0 will be the final nail in the coffin for old players, and will determine if FFXIV can last in the future with a newer player base.

Tbh I do not think so their content and gameplay feel extremely dated and not sure updated visuals will be enough.

To my memory, the most I've said about quitting for good is that I might if 7.0 sucked as much as 6.0 did. Even then, I probably wouldn't as a) there are still things in the game that I like, and b) a lot of my friends still play. (and if I have said something in the past to the contrary, then I've probably changed my mind on that) It's possible to dislike parts of a game and like others. Not sure why some can't seem to understand that just because someone doesn't come here to gush over every little positive thing, that doesn't mean that they hate the entirety of the game enough to quit.

I genuinely don’t want to quit the game.

But I’m so desperate to get that spark back. The one that had me impatiently await the launch of a patch. Or the conversations with friends where we discussed plot points or the new raid tier for hours.

Nowadays my excitement has dwindled so much I don’t log in immediately when new content drops. I log days later and then go play other games after a brief period of time. It’s been over a year now and I’m still bemused on why my passion for the game abruptly dropped post 6.0.

It really seems like Storm is right and some people on here think if you dislike part of the game you should just quit regardless of liking other parts.

Yes also agree with Storm on that. Though most of my posts are positive, this game has a ton of misses for me on content. I just don't do any of it and don't care enough to talk about how much I dislike it.

I'm pretty much the opposite of this. A lot of my posts are negative (there are positive ones), but there are still things I like in this game. I just don't feel the need or desire to post about those as often. I don't really like the notion that some people seem to want to push where there is some requirement for you to balance out your positive/negative posts with the other kind.

I really wish this forum had actual moderation so people making endless repetitive bait threads got banned.

Some misunderstandings may be happening if posters aren't being specific about what's bothering them. Many do come across as hating everything because they're using broad sweeping terms. "Content is bland, there's no replay value" makes it sound like that's their opinion of everything in the game when maybe all they had in mind was MSQ dungeons but they didn't include that information.

No one here is a mind reader, we come from a variety of backgrounds, and human beings are prone to try to fill in blanks based on their own experience when there is missing information. Being detailed about the problem instead of leaving it open for others to draw their own conclusions helps to prevent that and keep conversation constructive.
