Why do casuals act as if it's the end of the world when suggesting?

Casual-ish here. Max level in 3 combat jobs + 1 crafter. I have no problem with people who prefer more difficult content.
I've tried savage numerous (a dozen, maybe) times through PF practice groups, and have yet to beat one. Extremes and alliance raids are about my limit, and even those usually involve dying about once per boss.
I may never beat a savage raid, but I certainly don't have any problem with that content existing. I have friends who really enjoy and do well with it. I also don't feel compelled to have BiS in every slot, either, because I know the bar is just going to move every 6 months or so anyway.

As if you need an addon to know that someone is overhealing when a regen such as Medica 2 or benefic is going out, addons just make it easier to understand , just some thoughts on some examples of odd reasons to use regens in my opinion
1- pre-emptively before we start on a boss
2- when you don't need to top people off for a raidwide , especially people that may have debuffs
3- everyone is already at high health so it's going to be wasted (e.g. applying it and everyone is already at 90% or more health) bonus if it goes up again right away
4 - people are moving to a location and will naturally regain health
5- there is already a regen on (easy to do in DF, but technically an overheal)

Mate everyone in the party is at least 95% we see you using that medica 2, we've done it before, we've learned, we're not blind we have anywhere from 2-3 buttons to press for dps in no particular order WE SEE YOU.

By looking at your party list occasionally? Their health bar? Their buff bar? By learning just how much a certain spell/action will heal per use? By looking at those green digits popping when your co-healer spamming their Succors when you clearly have Asylum actively healing the party?

Yeah okay, let's overheal a bit because we're really insecure about that one SAM kept eating red carpets... that's completely fine. Alright so.. assuming we have no cooldowns left: just add 1 more Cure II/Medica II cast then go back to Glare III/Holy III spam? :(

Maybe they ve seen the slippery slope that happened in wow where they begun pandering to high end tryhards and now casuals are treated as 4th class citizens with worthless rewards and gears literally 30 ilvls below max.

Not saying its something that always happens, i get the feeling WoW devs are tryhards themselves hence why they treat casuals and solo players like trash unlike ff14 where the lead dev even said he wants to focus more on solo casual players

I mean, for most of the content casuals engage in (myself included), the single GCD wasted on Medica 2 instead of Glare here and there might cause overhealing, sure, and the decrease in total DPS might be noticeable, but we're talking a difference of what.. 5 minutes max in a standard issue dungeon?

If you're talking savage/ex trials and raids, different story sure...but standard issue dungeons? casual content stuff? I don't really see any harm in it.

Not that I'm saying overhealing is better- just that at the end of the day it's not that big of a deal unless they're wasting mp spamming medica when everyone's at 80%+ hp.

The question can be turned around. Why can't the hardcore be satisfied with the exclusive content catered to their playstyle and allow the casual player base to enjoy the content catered to their playstyle? In most of these arguments, it's not the more casual player base that never touches that content that's asking for more. It's those who do the optional hardcore content that get upset when they get bored in casual content and want to gatekeep it away from casual players.

If hardcore players want to make that argument that that optional content needs to be made harder, that's fine. That is a valid point of view. But often the argument is that the MSQ content is too easy and needs to be harder and the hardcore don't understand that that content is made with a wide variety of playstyles in mind and is not meant to challenge them. They will need to seek out different options to suit their playstyle the way the casual player base seeks out different options besides continuing on to Extremes and Savage and Ultimate to keep themselves busy in the game.

Except that's the opposite of what happened. The game's subs started to go down when they pandered too hard to casuals with things like Dungeon and Raid Finder.
