Perhaps the reason people have difficulty grasping or accepting such a "concept" is because it tells them absolutely nothing. Absolutely nothing at all.

Its trying to be a good game.
Wow you guys missed the point of the thread entirely.
Well I have no idea. There clearly isn't a guy in charge with a vision. They're just basically trying to copy other MMO ideas into XIV and it's turning this game into a emotionless mess.
I'm so tired of this method of appeasement that's screwing over the original vision and making it difficult to ascertain whether the game will ever even be worth playing in the future. It's stupid to make false promises, but giving players some insight into the philosophy behind the future design process isn't stupid at all. It's an honest practice. Unlike stringing people along when they are just going to destroy the underlying fabric of the original FFXIV that people signed up for.
How many people were looking forward to Public Companies? I remember since release everyone was anticipating the day they would have to shuffle their Linkshells and swear allegiance to one Company. All those dreams were dashed so SE could implement fetch quests and add auto-attack.
Is that a sign of things to come or just a small step off the original path?
Well basically.. gifthorse my bro.. I see it as Yoshi-P is not being honest with us. But, he said he wasn't going to be honest and open. He said no more info and no more broken promises until trust is regained. So, I agree with you and I'd like him to be open, but I'm ok with waiting while he tries to work it out with all those other people besides me he meant when he said that.
