Download Gshade, open Gshade, scroll down the filter list until you find one you like, tinker with settings as needed. Thats pretty much how all fancy looking screenshots in the Show Your ____ threads are taken.

The Miqo'tes' eyes though... I'm so mesmerised.

Ok they look a bit sharper which is nice but that change is also not that big if you are using 4k resolution

At least for us PC players there is already an option available since years that has just a minimal performance impact (depends on the settings) and looks way better that what they are trying to achieve even with the worst preset. If they really want to know how this game could like (since over 5 years) they should take a closer look at one of the dozens awesome reshade presets for this game and add the necessary settings and filters.

I use Nvidia Game filter for a more subtle colour and lightning tweak and yes i agree a little tweaks can make the game look amazing

These might look better for you, but I honestly prefer the ones they showed us. Compared to the current game they look better but still keep the same feel. The ones you showed for example are too „colorful“ for my taste. That was actually a subject they touched on the LL, they don‘t want to change the general atmosphere too much.
You also gotta keep in mind the ones they showed are just a month into testing. There will be more upgrades to gear etc.

This game can run on a straight up potato, it's optimized pretty well IMO. I have a 1080 ti until I get a 3080 ti or better but the market is currently in shambles so I'll be waiting for awhile.

But to mirror what someone else said, 1080ti still has a couple more years in it considering its about the strength of current gen consoles (PS5) so that makes that for FFXIV, it'll be supported for the long run.

This looks a lot better than the previous example. A small colour and contrast bump is all the game needs from that department.

This is how people set themselves up to be upset when 7.0 launches. They never implied any of the stuff you mentioned are happening.
