Smoking emote.

In the end it does not have to be tobacco,, it could be some made up ingame substance that has no negative side effects. This is a game, same rules and social norms do not have to apply.

That's the way i talk in conversation, yes. I just usually swear more, but that's frowned upon here. Sorry, it doesn't meet arbitrary rules for conversation on a video game board.

Only if it's optionnal, like something you have to unlock to be able to use it. I wouldn't want to see this in my emotes list.

NPCs can smoke. We should be able to too. Or if they want to be technical they can make it mogstation

If its a GC or PVP reward, this would be fine. Hell if they want to drive the point home to a super big extent - Make it mogstation exclusive. There wont be any 'accidental' ways to acquire this emote unless you go out of your way to buy it.

A lot of younger people play this game. We don't want to make smoking look "cool" for them. On top of that, there are the legal issues. Many governments frown upon tobacco depiction, especially when it's done in a manner that glamorizes or normalizes its use, and it might drive up the rating in certain regions.

I never understand the whole protect the kiddies from X, isn't that the job of the parents? Also is it really fair to say x in media can lead to influencing children but not z?

It's the image I would imagine. Hell even companies making smoking products aren't allowed to show people smoking in their ads in the USA.

In short, underage people (for smoking) play this game. It would be a bad image and bad PR for SE to add something like this.

It is the job of the parents but as we can see today many of those parents fail at the job. Also I believe ESRB has a rating if there is smoking in a game. This game would have to update it's ESRB and that would be a headache for people who already bought the game but have younger people playing. Than again most parents fail at the job and ignore ESRB ratings.
