Sanity check - crafting job skip potions?

Getting to level 50 on all eight crafting jobs IS a massive time sink, and the Ixal quests with their pitiful amount of experience that basically requires you to burn up all your daily beast tribe allowances that the Moogles/Namazu do in three quests is pretty bad. And for those who talk about crafting kits.... your still looking at millions of Gil to get all eight jobs just to level 50. That's not even mentioning the gathering jobs which fisher is still pretty terrible to level below level 60.

Also I'd say that your argument is a false equivalency. Triple Triad has no bearing on the rest of game play except to play more triple triad, same with the arguments about dyes and mounts. Crafting and gathering, on the other hand, tie directly back into battle jobs as the ability to create new weapons, armor, potions, and raid food. Being able to just catch up won't take away anything from people who already did it years ago. Even the jump potions now don't take you all the way to the end game, and jump potions for crafting/gathering shouldn't get you directly to level 70 either. Just far enough along that it's not something that would take months upon months if not longer just to be caught up with everyone else.

Skip potions for crafting? That's gonna be a no from me dawg.

Unlike MSQ and level restrictions, nothing is gated behind crafting except more crafting. It is entirely optional and if you are having trouble catching up to friends or the story as a result of taking the path of an omnicrafter then you either accept it or adjust your priorities in the game. Omnicrafting is a powerful tool for gil acquisition and self-sufficiency in the game. It really should be earned and not given just by throwing actual money at it. It's meant to be a time-sink.

I mean getting the crafters leveled isn't easy, but it isn't the hardest thing in the game. It just takes patience and motivation. I only just recently Got them all to 70 myself. I just used Namazu/Moogles/Collectible turn-ins to get along the way. What was a pain for crafters was the lv50 master books, especially the way they did the Tier 2 Master books. @_@

No offense.. but so is this entire game. Just because there is an aspect behind one gate that is not behind the other doesn't really give a good reason to not allow a shortcut. If I want to do Namazu beast tribe quests or get the mounts for any of the lower beast tribe quests I HAVE to level some sort of crafting. Right now I'm thinking the biggest objection people have is to it being something you drop $160 dollars and and poof you're an omnicrafter. While.. that honestly seems OK to me since if the equivalent to the Job pot is made it'd be 60 and you'd still have to grind all 8 to 70 anyway... I also wouldn't say no to having the original 1 discipline only restriction on crafting until the impact is measured.

Then you got Folklore and master craft books outside of Master book 1 and book 2(Pain in the arse one) the other books will take well over month to obtain. Before anyone mentions the idea I am fully against just giving people the books go out and earn them.

You not liking a reason does not make it a bad reason. You can't play the game ignoring combat classes, you can play the game ignoring non-combat classes. Bring up the bits and bobs you want as some kind of evidence it is all the same thing... but it's not.

I didn't say I didn't LIKE it. Just it's arbitrary.
"WE shouldn't have this because it's different." not a great reason.
You can play the game ignoring an incredible lot of content, that doesn't mean they shouldn't make it accessible later when they pile thing after thing after thing on it.

No thanks? Leveling crafters doesn't take long nor is it difficult between leves, exp FROM crafting itself, and (if you're behind) beast tribe quests halfway or less through an expansion.

Since there seem to be a select few amount of people who want crafting jump potions due to either laziness, or just simple disdain for crafting in general, which, is childish; I can be lazy too. :P

Let’s have gil jump potions! $30 for 30 Million Gil because gil is so easy to get, might as well just buy it! (sarcasm)

I wouldn't be opposed to jump potions up to level 50. The door was already opened with DoW/DoM jump potions, and players already sell levekits in-game for boosting crafting jobs, anyway.

'Breaking the economy' isn't really a good excuse imo when most servers suffer from empty market boards as-is. I'd argue the lack of crafters and gatherers is infinitely more negative, especially for new players.
