simply put, the only thing i pictured and wanted from this mmo since the day we learned of it was ...large scale pve (and all things party play lol) i just came back from swtor and it's just garbage, 8 and 16man stuff isn't enough, and being able to fully gear yourself in 6months isn't enough either. nothing left to do but make new toons isn't enough, especially in a game where it's all on one character. besides we started this game with 15 party grinds. this already set my mind to motion for the greatest endgame mmo ever and yeah then they changed it. ...
we need endgame to be for full linkshells, anything smaller then linkshells become pointless. 8man stuff needs statics not full linkshells. in ffxi salvage was done by groups ...the way we treat the endgame now is stupid. usually a static either way and then when it's been beaten to point where u can probably win with or without the pugs, u start adding in other members in the group. it's pug'n but in a linkshell format. this is what guilds do, i say there is a difference between guilds and linkshells. and this is it. i want a mmo for linkshells not guilds. anything less isn't exceptable truthfully. even if i wanted it, it just won't be enough, it would be like all other mmo's.
as for open world stuff i like the idea but it not really enough either, while we ended ffxi with campaigns and it was awesome ...it wasn't something u do like endgame. just showing up isn't that good of content(it is usually easy enough to do without to much strategy to begin with), eventually they are empty either way. take warhammer public quests, they had 100's of them ...all empty within 6months. witch might happen to gw2 if they don't do it right. but it is really cool stuff to have if done right. pushing waves to same one like they did with campaign battles would be best bet to keep them full.
when people saying that its worse for casual players ...i don't think so, it's the same for most part. how can ..show up at 2, 3 times a week for the event at same time that is good for all in linkshell get any easier. it's the same thing only diff is 8people or everyone. and it's not like there shouldn't be small man stuff, but it shouldn't be endgame of endgame. that should be what u can do prior or other days. a good mix of both would be best... ffxi did it right, lots of linkshell events with 2 6mans and assaults and lots of bcnm/enm's witch is ...waht we have now and calling endgame. it's really the scraps we had in ffxi ...at 2.0 we need the meat and that is full linkshell stuff.
hamlets will probably be really fun i can't wait to see it but i bet it's more like campaigns. what i am waiting for info about is crystal towers, seriously anything less then 16man for it and i probably will quit this game for good but i expecting 30+ man stuff from this mmo like ffxi or ...theres just to many crappy games with little content to play instead. ...and yeah i been playing final fantasy since 1st one ...don't matter.
