Actually the quest itself gave you enough points to buy everything from the event.

WoW has long and grindy holiday events. I think I only ever finished one. And it was one of the easiest one despite having to invade PVP flaggable places to get things.
So... ya know... I like these far more completable ones, with fancy cutscenes here and there rather than ones I have to poke at every other year in vain hopes of ever completing them.
Eh, it depends really. Think the main one I like most in WoW is Brewfest, and it has a little depth to it without going too crazy. It also just amuses me greatly when I hear the drunk goblins as background noise. XIV's, I wish they would get fleshed out just a bit more like they sometimes do for the Starlight Celebration. Gives you a reason to get a little something every day. Beyond that I don't really have any complaints. I enjoy XIV's events for the most part. Usually not a whole lot to them, but they're still nice.
