Because raid setups don't care about lore. They are based on class power and utility. There's almost no one raiding on blm or smn right now because these classes are simple not worth it compared to rdm. Blm will never get enough dps to cover for rdm's battle res without becoming completely broken, so i wouldn't expect any buffs honestly. Smn is useless and just needs total rebalance but that's another thing for another topic.Quote:

I'm raiding savage content as blm actually. Every time i see when people are dying and healers don't have time to res them instantly I know its my fault to not chose the right class over the one i like to play. They don't force me to switch into rdm, but i know im dragging them down with my decision to play this class. Not the best feeling honestly.

No. Black Mages don't rez. No matter how much you kick, scream and shout. I know a lot of you who speed through the story don't give a damn about lore... or even teamwork for that matter... But that's what a Final Fantasy game is about. The day they truly start giving you guy s what you want even more... which is folding in w h en you want to change the core elements of what a class is, or give you more nerfs to harder content... easier access to welfare epics... is when the game finally starts to die.
I don't think its at that part of the life cycle yet, where they let tanks do higher dps than DPS and give white magic to black magic classes.... thank god the japanese are more stubborn than America. -

The best possible solution is to just make phoeenix down usable in battle. Keep it stuck at 1 per character at a time,. I agree and sympathize that like DRK, BLM best utility got thrown in the discount bin and given to the other casters, but so did e4e get split up and bargain binned at half strength.
personally im not too fond of a rigid, strict trinity type of game unless its a solo one, alot of salt when everyone relies entirely on everyone else, but thats an mmo for you,
If they broke down and gave blm raise, the next whine session will be drg or nin wanting a raise because all the casters get one. And then itll be tanks next because every other role has raise.
To end all of this in the future if i were a dev, id simply just make phoenix downs usable and tell everyone to shut it

Isn't necromancy "evil" in FFXIV? BLM also have no connection to necromancy in this game so no, it wouldn't make sense.
