with the recent nerfs and buffs, anyone planning to change his/her main job?

Nobody wants tanks and healers to be on DPS levels. But when our utility and main jobs are done and were safe, we have nothing to contribute but damage. Forcing Pld into the MT just puts things back into 2.0 style. Every tank can survive greatly due to magic block putting Pld on par with Drk and War for that. But Pld also has way more utility than Drk and War and its a better OT now too. It shouldnt be both BY THIS MARGIN. Intervention and Cover(now that it affects magic) makes its a great OT. We have the numbers and skills from square themselves in the Job Guide. Pld beats them both. We have every right to be mad when we wanted everything to be decently equal to where they wouldnt be left out but competing instead of this. Each job should have a boon and a bane that doesnt completly shut it out aside from oh no LB gauge. War has slash but nins and sam got that with no dps loss anymore, Pld has better TBN. We have every right to worry right now.

The queue times are going to be a far bigger problem than people anticipated. They were just considering how RDM and SAM might draw tanks away... but now that WARs and DRKs have been insulted so badly, you'll see even less tanks... meaning much longer queues.

I can understand your point. But I stick with my last paragraph. Played too many MMO's with too many changes to think otherwise. And if they honestly kill 2 out of 3 tank classes that bad, then they deserve the massive migration away from the game that will happen. But I don't think they will let that happen.

No white knight here, just someone who's been around the block and is willing to wait until the dust settles.

If Ninja turns into a brain dead Job that spams 123 90% of the battle, i'll probably switch to Red Mage or Samurai, hopefully it won't be brain dead.

My plan is to level all 3 healers to 70, then decide later. The more people shit all over WHM, the more I want to play it.

Yeah I tend to be a bit contrarian myself. However, I already have my jobs that I was dead-set on from the start, and they luckily happen to be in 'good standing'.

However, from my perspective, a lot of jobs got hit in ways they recognize. Internal Release is gone from non Monks, Blood for Blood from Non-Dragoons. Raging Strikes from Mages. Everyone's output was hit in some way, whether or not our stats got buffed.

Then there's the wildcard here - Direct Hit. We've no idea how it's going to impact damage across the board. People are making comparisons to their previous job incarnations and buffs other classes got without any idea how this little gem affects the whole balance.

Just lots and lots of still unknowns here, and honestly, I'm too old to worry about my epeen and feel like a class got ruined just because some numbers and abilities got shifted around. I can't wait to put the jobs in my hands and play them, see them, and experience them.

I'm the opposite, I'm really happy that Bard is finally turning into a real support class. Also, we get our mobility back, yay. And I'm not really sure if this is really a damage nerf overall. Don't forget the new abilities and stats.

Also, so many classes got buffs that affect everyone else, that I'm wondering if we can accurately judge damage changes by looking only at a single class.

I'm in line with this concept too. Even back when they announced the changes on Bard for HW (that I didn't like), I felt that it was worth waiting and trying. I was correct in that situation (i was never fond of cast bars), but i gave it a go. This time around I'm looking forward to the Bard changes and interested to see how it turns out.

Im actually one of the 1% players that is really pissed about them taking casttimes away from bard..i will probably abandon my bard because of this drastic change..maybe ill start to make a thread every day now to get cast times back because from what we see crying loud helps ;)

It's not a drastic change seeing from 1 - 52 you didn't have a cast bar on Bards then all of a sudden at 52 you have a cast bar... Thats a drastic change... Also it wasn't fluid enough when weaving OGCD's between GCD's... in some cases it looked like your caracter was doing some really weird back bending shots when weaving skills. The dev team most likely decided to remove the cast times due to casmetic reasons and the sheer amount of discuss players had with the job. Plus MCH and BRD were just to similar in HW... fast forward to SB and MCH looks very different than BRD so in long run its going to be very interesting.

I'm one of those that I like to "see it by myself" so I will continue maining WHM for now. My second favourite healer is Ast so if needed....
