That's fine for the OP's case. But the thread is about "weekly lock out of stuff." That pertains to the entire topic of lockouts. So unless it's a direct response to the OP's case, talking about the current situation when almost all lockouts are removed isn't really a good way to discuss lockouts.

For many reasons, I don't think getting rid of the cap is a good idea. Like it or not, it is GOOD for the health of the game to have bottlenecks.

What I would like to see the most is a carry-over cap. If I didn't log this week, maybe next week I get double the cap. If I had 100 scriptures left to get this week, then next week's scriptures cap will be 1000 instead of 900. Set a max carryover to the cap (2k pool.)

The system I espouse evolved over time and is proven to work. It's not like they just arbitrarily added caps before ever trying another system. There is a good reason for having the system the way it is, even if it may not be optimal for each individual person. Maybe the caps should be a bit looser, or maybe it would be optimal (business-wise) for them to be tighter, I don't know. But I do know, from experience, that no cap at all is bad news. That's how you end up with only hardcore players, and a whole lot less revenue.

Lockouts basically just limit you from playing to your full potential with the time that you have. This is the reason we have raidloggers and such where they login do weekly stuff and then disappear. There is no incentive for them to continue playing.

Either way the locks are sadly nessasary. Alothough i'm not sure why the 7 week shire weapon STILL has not gotten its 270 upgrade and were not 2 months from launch lol

I just wish the devs would increase the tome cap to 900 and remove raid lockouts not just at the last two months before an expansion, but a month before a patch introducing the next raid tier/a new type of tome/higher item level gear is released too. The raid scene would have likely benefited from it back in Gordias/Midas.

The locks are necessary in general to be sure, but at this point in the game there's really no reason Dun Scaith needs to be locked or Scripture still needs to be capped. Anyone who is just returning is undoubtedly doing so to get ready for Stormblood anyway, so it's not like they really need to throttle the rate of gear acquisition to keep those people here for less than three months until Stormblood takes care of the rest.

Cause they want you to work for it still. Through the anima series or clear A11S for a gobdip. It's kind of nice they aren't giving away everything for once. (Like the Diadem Coven weapon mistake)

It's (roughly) two months before an expansion and a level cap/ilevel increase where everything we did at 60 will become irrelevant. At this point in HW I'm all for getting rid of the weekly caps and letting people farm as much as they can possibly get.

You can't forget they already doubled the scripture cap way earlier than when poetics got doubled. 900 is well enough to get what you need before SB if you cap weekly. Plus you have options to get free 270 gear now that Alexander Creator Savage is now unlocked. Diadem for free jackpot 265s. It's all there if you work a bit.
