It's hilarious that some of the people saying that chat removal was good thing because Feast chat was so toxic were literally some of the most toxic people inside and outside of Chernobyl.
I don't know how I feel about this. I think if you don't want a stressful experience, you shouldn't be playing a ranked matchmaking mode. I'm stressed out with or without chat, I want to win, I try my best, and I get down on myself if I do something that makes my team lose (anyone who has watched me stream knows this). If my teammates aren't putting in the same effort as me, I feel like it is disrespectful. One time, my tank died because he didn't back when I died I said "????", and he replied, "been on the phone all match xD lol". People like this are the problem with the ranked community in my opinion, I'd rather someone get upset with me because I know they care about the game. I put 100% into every ranked match I play, and I expect the same from my teammates. If you aren't stressed out, either you aren't putting 100% into the match, or you are some kid of stoic god.
To offer a differing perspective, I am terrified to try out even unranked Feast now, despite the Garo rewards, simply because I will have no idea what I'm doing poorly, or well, or what my teammates are trying to achieve and if I should follow them or stay back because I'm needed elsewhere.
I'm not a slouch at Frontlines healing, even under pressure, but the way I learned was by quietly observing the callouts and strategies presented by veteran players of PVP. With no one to direct in a Feast mode, I'll probably wind up making more mistakes than if I could have had someone directing me (whether worded rudely or harshly or no). Now all I can do when I queue up is either hope the team is good enough where they don't really need me to play well, or that the enemy team is as noob as I am so it all evens out.
I prefer disable chat too, since I don't know any macro of japanese, this is good to understand what they mean with this chat button. But it still need more chat like "need MP" or countdown stuff.
I admire your sense of personal accountability. Sadly, that is a quality that a lot of players lack. It's all too common to see people just gun their way forwards without any regard to their role, responsibilities, or teammates. It's a mentality that I think has been bred into the current generation of gamers by instant gratification games which value personal stats (such as Kill : Death) over your actual result/win rate, and quite frankly, it shows in how they play.
A certain degree of anxiety is a good thing in a game mode like this, because you really should feel at least some accountability for the success or failure of your team. That's the same in Feast as it is in a savage raid or an extreme trial. It sounds harsh, but if you're not feeling at least the slightest twinge of anxiety when you go into these kinds of things, then you probably don't belong there. It's always nice to see players who do, even if they preform badly, because at least you know that they are somewhat invested in favorable results and will likely improve over time, regardless of if they get chewed out for playing badly along the way.
