You can have a flying spinning turtle with fire for feet, but a motorbike? certainly not, don't be ridiculous, it would look odd going a bit slow

Sure, the turtle looks funny, but it is functional. The bike/car simply will not be able to traverse the terrain presented to us in the game, try going through the thickets of the east shroud or climbing the tower/mountain in the forelands in a car...
You are thinking that people are complaining about creativity and realism within the game, when we are actually complaining about functionality.
That was the exact reason they quoted tho, that it would look strange going at normal mount speed. They never said anything about terrain.
Plus also a lot of mounts are already unsuited to the terrain. Trying running through the OLN mines on a goobue or magitek
Every single mount in the game currently either floats or has legs. This is so that it can climb on unstable terrain and traverse caves. Mount size can be an issue, but the fact that these mounts have legs solves a lot of problems when it comes to verticality. The bike can sort of fix these problems better than the car if the devs implement it correctly, but I imagine both would still look horrible.
Edit: people are saying it would look horrible, yes it would, every time it hit a bit of unstable terrain, every time it tried to jump, and every time you decided to climb some stairs or turn sharply.
If we for some reason get a 4 seat mount, I'd rather it be this:

And honestly, even that would look pretty ridiculous in a lot of places.
(Although a 1 choco version with a smaller carriage might work.)
Actually if I remember Advent Children correctly, we see a couple scenes of Cloud driving the Fenrir around on rough terrain. That thing is kinda designed to go wherever Cloud wants it to go. So I don't think terrain is the big issue with adding the Fenrir Bike (Though the car, yeah that becomes a problem...unless it has terrain adapting tires.)
But overall, the terrain we normally traverse, at least in the ARR areas, would not mess up the Fenrir that much. It is just as Yoshi said, that thing going at mount speed would be kinda silly lookin'.
no thanks <,<
