Feeding in the Feast for Esos

I hate making this argument but it is a slippery slope though. There are people who obviously misues the system but there's a fine line between that and just lazy or bad players and should you be able to report those as well? I hate PvP and I am very bad at it so I never did it until the feast BUT I do want to compete in achievement points so since I can go in with a pre-made team, and it's fast, play half-heartedly and get achievement points/glamour/mionion/music I have been doing some of that. I would never queue solo but only queue with others who feel the same way. Should I be punished for then not trying very hard to win when I am only playing in a group with others who feel the same way? How about a person spirit bonding a ring in a dungeon that makes it take 15 seconds longer to do or people wiping deliberatly as soon as something goes wrong in a trial instead of trying to fight through it against the odds? If we start banning people for being lazy this game will empty in a hurry.

Western people tends to be more inclined to think "if it's a benefit for me I should go for it, without having a consideration for others". Japanese people don't have that way of thinking... or, at least, it's a lot less frequent.

In Japan, tacit rules are very important and the society would hammer on you for not respecting them. This isn't the case in NA/EU where we need hard written rules to draw the limits.
As far as an allegory can go, if in Japan you were to see a line saying "do not cross", people won't cross it. EU/NA people need a physical wall preventing them from crossing.

It's a cultural thing. And probably one of the hardest ones to fight against.

Actually in my opinion, if there is a better/easier way you /should/ go for it and not be punished for it. If there is a better easier way then all other things need brought up to par and you /should/ abuse it to be better and ahead of others. I myself don't care about other people, I want to be the best and better then them. Problem is, game doesn't really do this and gear even higher level is barely any better then lower level end gear. So I mostly just play on the forums. Why work for 1 point of damage when you can wait 3 months and get it easy?

Waiting for Pantheon to come out.

Everquest has ruined me. Anyways, the issue with that thinking is, I do consider others in my goal to get stronger, and so do those people perhaps as well. They just don't care about anyone else they abuse as long as they can help their friends.

However, the thing about it is. If it didn't take a stupid number of Esos to do the grind anyways, people probably wouldn't be abusing it.

They probably should of saw this coming anyways.

You are free to play the game however you like. You are not, however, free from the consequences of your actions. Especially when it involves harassment to other players.

So you expect people to waste their time reporting dozens of players daily and after that you will waste countless of paid resources to police something that should not exist in the first place. The solution is not deleting posts criticizing the system, because obviously it has flaws, and we care for it enough to spend our time here arguing about it just incase something good comes out from it. I will say it again, PvP is a much more serious business than PvE in a sense that it involves real players in both ends of the spectrum, whereas in PvE it's one sided. If you want to make a successful PvP system you need to change the course the dev team is taking with PvP and do a proper implementation. After that we can discuss about rankings and competition.

It shouldn't be the community's job to discourage this kind of behavior by reporting people. Its the developer's fault for being short sighted and letting this stuff happen.

We need to know tangible measures will be undertaken to prevent this sort of thing like changes or adjustments to PvP rewards. Your hollow comment is literally telling the community to police your game in your stead. It's not mentioning any kind of solution and yet it has 37 likes.

that wouldnt stop the fact that losers still receive tomes so theres still not much of a motive to not do it

The fun thing is that they believe removing the tome reward will make the queues unbearable, and people won't even go through the trouble waiting for hours to go in. This by itself is proof that the system by itself is not fun or worth people's time, so by adding some pve reward they artificially increase the number of players participating but not actual PvPers. So again you can conclude, that the PvP system itself is fundamentally flawed, and needs a remake in order for people to willingly participate in actual PvP. Maybe they can make a PvP Reborn patch or something, but something definitely need to be done.

Someone I know got banned / jailed for 48h on our datacenter (Chaos / Europe) because he did not heal after a clash with the tank.
He got punished for eso-farming while it was his 2nd run in the Feast and he wasn't even trying to lose on purpose nor eso-farm.

Somehow, this is going out of hand ^^'

I've been seeing PFs for this on Lamia (3 up at once!) It's ridiculous! I'm not hardcore into PVP myself but I enjoy it and I do okay. Seeing people farming tomes like that is disgusting.
