Any plans for compensaion due to a full 24 hours with inability to play?

I actually want to hear how this ends... like watching a train wreck.

This game has VERY little maintenance time compared to most MMO's. The last one I played (for 9 years - not naming names) had at minimum 8 hours of downtime per week (on Tuesday), with MUCH more downtime for patches. If you want the new Heavensward content, they HAVE to bring the servers down to update everything. There's no way around it. This is all included in the subscription contract. If there were unreasonable amounts of downtime, I might agree with you...but this game has by far the least amount of downtime I have ever seen in any MMO.

Well at least the downtime is now and not tomorrow. Sure we might still get lag, random dc and long login ques but WoW expansions are notorious for being unplayable on the first day. This mega maintenance might help fixing that.

Heavenward is going to be amazing. SO EXCIT

as said before in the thread, our compensation is having brave women and men work overtime to make sure the services and servers work on release. :^)

Not a 24 hr maint. 2hrs? sure. Maybe even 3 hrs. But, 24 hrs? We need to be reimbursed for 1/30th of our sub fee.

I think it might be more valid to want compensation for the time I wasted reading this thread... :P

By what rules/laws does a person even begin to think they would get compensation for planned downtime? Working jobs where I deal with people not stop, it amazes me all the things people believe or say they are entitled to.

As far as I know, the only thing a person entitled to is death and taxes.... lol j/k But yea, if someone wants to act out being entitled, it would benefit them to know the laws of their country. What is the percentage of people that get all entitled with me on stuff that actually know the law? It's like 0.01% All the people that know the law generally get what they want LONG before they come to my dumb self to ask... They always come to the wrong place if they don't know the law. It's like if you go to a retail store and threaten to sue the store to a clerk at the register... Like, what are they gonna do? You call corporate, you get a lawyer... Threats are just threats... and It's like this post, if you were getting compensation for this... you wouldn't be coming here, you'd have it already.

Yeah. I applaud them if they manage to reduce their risks down to 24h. Though I'm guessing they've been at it for the better part of the week already anyway and this is just the final crunch where things are going live.
