I like FFXIV's recruitment feature in theory, I think it's a really nice way to find a party which would work great if people would actually use it. Fact is, they don't.
I like the flag system, there's something quite nice about going about your solo business, but announcing that, if asked, you would happily join a party. It saves you from checking every 5 mins to see if another party has come up. Not that forming a party is technically hard in FFXIV, every job is the same and any party size will do, so it's just "GRAB THE NEAREST PERSON AND GO!"... I thought i'd like that, but it gets dull...
What FFXIV has practically done is reversed the system, you look for parties rather than parties looking for you, and I think it's clear that people prefer it the other way around. Maybe previously Square Enix would've stuck to their guns and made people adjust to their way of thinking, but this new, more humble, eager to please development team must surely take this on board? It might be a better system in theory but in practice it doesn't work as well.
Maybe add it in addition to the current system? Then we're all happy!

I would rate this the most important feature to add. I like the idea of the party recruitment option, but it needs to be an option on top of the old ffxi method. Of course, unlike ffxi, you should be able to seek on any class, not just the class you are currently on.

Signed. Please please please add this feature. If my linkshell happens to do group leves before I get on then i'm left with no party to do my leves when I log in after work. It would help so much if we had this feature instead of shouting for a party and being ignored.
