Gold Saucer outfits, gender locked?

Screw the bunny outfit, I want the Setzer outfit on my female character.

Yes the concept art has FemRoe on it that's why I'm so hype to get that. Also it was the first rewards they show up in the Live Letter.

Boys: Iconic Final Fantasy character.

Girls: Sexy costume associated with nameless characters not associated in any way with the franchise.

Never mind that we have Quistis Trepe who is secretly the resident card games master of Balamb Garden, all three of the Gold Saucer dates (who are also mainline FFVII characters, i.e. absurdly easy marketing sells,) or if they were absolutely obsessed with the gambler theme, even the freaking Lady Luck outfits from FFX-2 would've at least been a token effort to give female characters an iconic Gold Saucer outfit associated with gambling. They ain't even trying.

Or just, y'know, give everyone the Setzer outfit because it looks good on people regardless of gender.

Yeah I've seen that about him appearing on that server, but as I don't speak Japanese I was hoping we could get an official translation of Yoshi-P's answer, just on the off-chance it was a fan-translation error?

I just find the concept art contradiction a bit odd, community reps I'm sure you've seen this by now, any hope of a response to clarify? If not I know we'll find out either way in the Gold Saucer update, but if Yoshi-P has seemingly informed one Japanese server already, it sure would be nice if the rest of us could be filled in before the update too without having to rely on fans to translate, which may or may not have lead to some confusion in this case.

"セッツァー装備は男性キャラ専用" meaning Setzer Equipment are male character only (exclusive).

Not going to complain anymore, you can take my complain as a feedback SE.
I'm still mad but I'm not going to unsubs, I'll see the conclusion on 24 Feb.

Yeah, that's part of why I'm so annoyed with SE over this. Having concept art showing the outfit on a female character only to have it be male-exclusive makes it feel like we've been implicitly lied to. I get that concept art doesn't always reflect the final reality of things, and at some point someone at Square probably decided "we can't have female characters crossdressing as a male character" but it's still absolutely absurd of Square to handle it like this, especially when it comes to changing something the player base has already seen.

I really want a bunny outfit for my catboy. Also women should be able to wear the Setzer outfit.
