Part of the challenges unique to monk is the heavy positioning reliance. If you're not willing to you're massively handicapping yourself and should play something else.
I would tend to agree with you there.

Uh...Trick Attack is a rear-facing attack. You mean Sneak Attack (which at 50 you should use almost never use)?

Except for trick Attack you need to hit the enemy from behind, not the front, the one that requires frontal positioning in Sneak Attack, which you shouldn't be using on a boss except when you can't reach the back.

Thank you. I couldn't remember which was which (Haven't really levelled it); I just know they had one and I've watched several people explode trying.
