I don't how this makes my stats Low, slightly lower, yes. Low? no. In any casual duty u wont even see a difference.
Those stats are more or less inline with dps, my bard has more vitality. So, I wouldnt say it makes no noticable difference.
And casual content or not doesnt matter. In casual content youre dragging newbie sprouts and people who are learning their jobs into it. So, doing this can make otherwise mildly challenging content for newbies into difficult content they arent prepared for.
Not getting kicked in a dungeon doesn't mean anything.
Dungeons are a gogogo mentality and you can't kick while in combat. So unless the tank actually stops and initiates a kick, then has to wait for another player after that, you're not getting booted.
It takes as much time to kick/replace compared to just dealing with you.
My opinion on this is you're free to play however you want. But saying you're not a nuisance on other players is just a flat out lie.
nuuh its fiine, I am trying my best, to make my performance be on same level as other players, as close as posible. If it was a big deal, devs would already fix all broken low quality content, like CT raids, 60 level normals, 60 level "reactor" trial and etc, since its cause more "nuisance" to players, than my "playstyle". Or add more QoL features and etc.
For example: I come home, login, start Allaince Roullete, and getting the Crystal Tower, the next thing I wan to do - just close the game, or leave duty and wait 30 min watching youtube or doing IRL stuff.
Its the game design. I like how conjurer works, so I enjoy playing this way.
And all these arguments always lead to 2 conclusions: "Lmao don't play the game then" or "You dont pay my sub".
Totally unrelated:
Still remember that ice mage in the MSQ roulette. It was outside and after the reform that made it shorter but still... took what felt forever
The main reason stuff like this hasn't been fixed is mainly due to there not being enough people dumb enough to do this challenge.
I wouldn't even call it a challenge anyways. The MSQ related stuff is brain-dead easy. All you're doing is making it take more time. Which again, you can do. But other people are also free to complain about you doing it.
Wiping City lived up to its name again today. Lost one entire group on Forgall and two on Ozma.
On the plus side, I finally got the minion. I've been running it since it was current and I've never rolled about 50 on it before.
I don't believe that, we still have semi working portrait system up to this day, which resets 24/7, still missing QoL features for UI, like select multiple items in Grand Company Expert Delivery window (this is most obvious thing to add, but no), or more advanced Target picking algorithm for Tab targeting (that picks targets starting from a middle of a screen), or outdated /tell system, that does not allow to send /tells to peoples in duties, or weddings attend as Wanderer/Traveler. People complains about this stuff a lot. This is probably due lack of devs, who can support/maintain legacy content, or they just dont care.
And its not a challenge, its just my playstyle for brain-dead abandoned old game content.
For dps maybe. For tank or healer, probably no, since I have less 1 1 1 1 1 1 glare spamming, and watch my team more closely, knowing that I don't have magic healing buttons, and as tank u have to count ur mitigations more carefully, since u dont have 100 of them.
Idk, it just feels more fun, especially Conjurer in 70 level alliance is my favorite, since Cure/Cure2/Medica/Medica2 potency is perfectly adjusted for this raid.
Someone is playing conjurer at level 80? Did I read that right?
... Moving on. Rant of the day: Baelsar's Wall, final boss. I'm the healer (conjurer... no, joking, whm). The players are clearly part of that category of old-timers who no longer have time for anything, logging in out of habit more than anything else, and consider that losing 5 seconds of time is a dramatic loss of optimization in this oh-so-difficult content that is the roulette dungeon.
So, inevitably, when I'm immobilized by the "dark chain", they don't bother to destroy it. No doubt because the boss was already low on life, and they considered it more optimized to let the healer die and do dps instead. So they opted for this solution. I die. Shortly afterwards, the tank dies. Then one of the two dps. The last one managed, in extremis, to kill the boss. Mission accomplished, I guess; the survivor types "lol" in the chat bar and hurries towards the exit.
In itself, it's not dramatic. At least we didn't wipe, and their "strategy" worked, even if I doubt it was really calculated. But... I don't know, it just annoys me. Unless you're able to kill the boss before the other player get executed, would it kill you to take literally 5 seconds to free him? Why would you risk wiping the whole group for so little? In general, what kind of mentality is it that ? The other players are not bots, just there to get you started in the instance, which you can then "dispose of" as you see fit. I can understand sacrificing a player to kill a difficult boss (for example, when all the healers are dead, and you're avoiding a stack because it's better for the targeted player to get obliterated than for everyone else to die), but that's not the case here.
It's just: "I don't have 5 seconds to lose, die". And again, I know it's not dramatic. I just find this mentality extremely unpleasant.
Another rant, another dungeon. The group forms. A tank and a dps, who already know each other, and a new healer. I'm the second dps. The tank starts to pull, w2w. Everything's normal so far. ... Except that it goes REALLY fast. I think it's the fastest tank I've ever seen on this game. They didn't take into account the location of the healer (who was, in fact, a bit slow to sprint). We wipe once. Do it again, and they still pulls just as hard, and just as fast. Wipe a second time. He starts grumbling in the chat, then... Starts running again.
At this point, what will turn out to be our first healer in a series of three poor souls leaves. The tank couldn't care less: it pulls w2w anyway, with no heal. And dies miserably. While waiting for the second healer, he laments the fact that the healers are too slow and unable to keep up with him.
I won't go into all the details; just remember that two other healers followed, not as new as the first. Neither of them was able to keep up with the tank. On several occasions I suggested that he slow down a little - after all, successive wipes were wasting more time than adopting a more reasonable pace. After a few wipes, his friend also pointed out that slowing down was the right thing to do. He listened to no one, persisted in mocking the healers and never questioned himself. After the (?) tenth wipe, they left the party. Not without a lot of grumbling in the chat room beforehand. While we were waiting for another tank, his "friend" told us that he was insulting him copiously by private message, because the said friend had "betrayed" him by suggesting to slow down.
Wtf ?
Fortunately, the new tank was able to w2w while remaining aware of the healer's position. The dungeon ended without a hitch.
I was in an instance of Adazaal's Legacy a few days ago where the exact opposite happened. I think our Tank must've forgotten that they were a tank - not sure if they were new to playing Tank as they didn't say - not a word from them the entire run, even when the Monk on the team said "? tank". Eitherway, said Tank lagged behind everyone else pretty much the entire run although did, more or less, do their job when we did reach the mobs. We did complete it without much issue, beyond the fact that it seemed to take longer than it should've.
I need an answer to something. How is it possible for a DPS to be incapable of naturally out DPSing an AST during both pulls and on the bosses, but they're smart enough to notice you stopped giving them cards and started using them on yourself? And what kind of ego do you have to have to think that you deserve the card when you're nearly dying during trash pulls as a DPS as well?
This is literally the reason why I stopped playing this job.
That's ridiculous.
meanwhile me playing AST:
"We have cards?"

I keep running into dragoons in dungeons that pop Dragon Sight while still running in-between packs. I know I'm usually ranged, but wouldn't it still make more sense to wait until the tank stops so we can use the buff on everything?
To be fair, you can't kick anyone in a party if combat is going on or if there's loot up. So yeah, there's a valid reason to stop moving in that case, assuming it's been communicated.
I don't know what it is about that dungeon. I filled in for a DPS there a month ago last time I got put into it, and the other DPS was an arcanist... I just tolerated it because it was 2 trash pulls and last boss, but it's unacceptable to drop into a random dungeon like that and put that burden on a stranger.
With a DPS without their job stone who knows how far you're going to be in 5 minutes. They were actually rather kind. If I queued into that as a healer I would have assumed the worst and instantly left you to find a new healer. Not having a job stone is inconsiderate and you can't blame people for not wanting to complete content with you if you're not going to use one.
Obviously if you lash out in certain ways against people that don't use it then you're probably going to get actioned on by a GM but that doesn't make running around without a job stone any better.
they got kicked instead of stoneless dps, I bet other teammates asked healer to stop afk and help, maybe even there was some dramma. And now healer complains that Roulettes are bad, coz team does want to follow his behavior. Ok. And I don't care if GM will bonk the healer or not, just don't be surprised.
Isn't most of this a bit of an assumption on your part?
Yeah, if they acted out the GM will take action, but neither of us know what truly happened. We just know that someone here is frustrated because someone was in level 70 content without their job stone and I think that being frustrated with that situation is completely fair.
Make jobstone mandatory to que into DF.
- Prob solved
I am getting frustrated every time when rolling the Crystal Tower raid, but I am not going full afk, hoping that some one gonna kick me in 5 minutes, so I can avoid penalty, or asking for duty Dismiss, or afk waiting duty to autocomplete. I just leaving by myself, so my raid can replace me fast, or cope and play, when I don't have time for 30 min penalty.
I this case Healer (Majatok), was able to cope with other 2 members, who did not want them to afk, and kick dps later on the road. Instead they start AFK dramma, got kicked, and now blame people in Roulettes.
Its not hard to ramp up big dps during pulls on WHM and AST. Holy is strong so if you use buffs and weave assize and get dots on, you can outpace some dps jobs. AST can ramp up damage during pulls using Lightspeed + Gravity. So yeah, its quite doable without dps doing something wrong. Dps can have less mobility and damage ramp up (ie BLM) which if pulls die fast means they dont get to peak.
Also, during levelling dungeons people can be at wildly different experience levels with jobs and gear can make a difference that really starts to add up.
I've had entire parties in raids refuse to fight a boss because one of the other alliances were being beyond dicks and without job stones, just sat at the boss area line and waited until they kept wiping and finally kicked the people harassing others. (Was probably Dun Scaith, which was at one point notorious having people queue in DF with no job stones) Pretty sure if someone would try to report, the GM would pull up the chat logs and see the reason everyone did that, and maybe have a discussion and slap on the wrist in GM Jail but nothing more.
Tbh if I go into any content higher then level 50 and I see someone with no job stone, I'll ask first. If they say something like "omg wtf I'm sorry" I'll deal with it because I've seen it happen on accident to people, any other response (or lack of response) we are either kicking or I'm taking that 30 min penalty, not worth it.
The game can already lock you out based on what job you are when queueing into content because of Blue Mage. Locking off classes from content is already possible, just not implemented. It would take at most an afternoon for a programmer to implement and test.
If portrait in Warning state -> Regen portrait using new gear, without changing anything else. Instead making new portrait with default settings. Or when making a new portait run import subfunction, from previous portrait, since import function already implemented.
here, fix is ready.
Got Royal City of Rabanastre with a WHOLE BUNCH of new players and it was a beautiful disaster. We slowly and painfully wiped on Matteus! I got to see all the old mechanics I'd forgotten all about! We had tank dc and replace into that tank insta dcing. It was super fun! It's been a long time since it was like that
