You are surrounding your self in a bubble to block out anything that could possibly contradict Samurai is the next job. A samurais only Safe Space if you will. Nowadays people seem to have great difficulty knowing the difference of what is an opinion vs objective truth, something they should have learned in school. I take it in your case while others where learning this concept in school you studied the blade?

Sorry, you missed one. Samurai was in FFTA2 also under the name Parivir (Youjimbo in the JP version). Wasn't out and out called Samurai but it was. So the count would be 17.

Also are you counting the Bravery Default series?

I'm just gonna point out that the reasons why samurai was chosen over dark knight is something that Yoshida actually said in an interview.

He can't even count correctly. He conveniently forgets to add FF8's Quistis Trepe making it 16. He doesn't Add blue mage from final fantasy explorers but yet does so on Samurai. Bringing Blue mage up to 17. There WAS NO SAMURAI in Final Fantasy 9 as Steiner was not a samurai but a Knight. -1 for samurai. If we are counting Bravely Defaults Sword master as Samurai then We count Vampire and Catmancer as Blue mage. Blue mage was in the game data of final fantasy record keeper but Ill be generous and leave it off.

So To repeat he left off FF8 and Final Fantasy Explorers from his Blue list. Making Total it a Total of 17.

You don't add FF7 enemy skill which is blue magic +1

Bartz uses blue magic in Dissidia 2015 +1

Gun Mage used blue magic in 10-2 +1

FF9's steiner is not a samurai but a Knight -1 for samurai

Stragos a blue mage/loremaster is in artniks +1 for blue mage
*Stragos is also in record keeper by the way along with those blue mage sprites*

so by that count we are at 24 for blue mage
and 21 for Samurai.

Heck Final Fantasy IV the after years had a blue mage dancer hybrid so 25 if you want to count that. Imagine if the class is a Blue mage dancer hybrid that uses blue ribbons/scarves like spider mans webs. Wouldn't that be awesome.

Look we can keep this up all day but its not gonna solve anything. Look guys my whole point is not that Blue mage is coming over samurai, It's that Samurai is not a guaranteed shoe in and that there is equal possibility that it can be another job. I am not against the samurai class in fact Id like to see it eventually as a DPS (hopefully not a tank). Im saying that the samurai "proofs" are the same as blue mage "proofs" and that blue mage is just as valid. Im just here in this thread to speculate about possible jobs the spiderman shirt could represent. I'm not here to pick fights.

I think we're all getting side-tracked here.

Counting the number of titles in which Samurai and Blue Mage have been included doesn't seem like it will relate to FFXIV all that much, particularly as FFXIV is a stand-alone game. I agree with Frankenbeans, a number of Pro-Samurai players are highly vocal and tend to be aggressive both in tone and content, as if by intimidating others into silence, it will somehow increase the odds that the Spiderman shirt references Samurai. I also don't think these people need necessarily be acknowledged beyond the content of their posts. There's little point in policing tone, when the internet is a pretty terrible place to convey such subtle aspects of conversation.

Logic indicates the Spider-Man Shirt (the topic of this thread by it's very title) would reference Blue Mage. It takes, 'Mental Gymnastics,' to convince one's self or others differently. Spiderman's very story is that of a Blue Mage, in essence.
Logic indicates through data-mined files that there is a high probably that Samurai will be added in Stormblood. These files could be false and meant to lead us astray, but they're still more solid than speculation on a shirt.

Looking at the two above, I can't help but conclude we'll get both Samurai and Blue Mage in Stormblood. Spiderman's shirt references Blue Mage, and Samurai files have already been added to the game files. Seems pretty simple and straightforward. The -true-, 'Mental Gymnastics,' are the assumptions we'll only get -2- new classes for Stormblood.
