The New Chat Restriction in The Feast

Can we please remove the chat ban? It is making WT unpleasant. I had a match with a co healer that lacked forsight, it felt like I was solo healing (even though I wasn't but when it came time to heal those people under 2k hp, it was me saving them all the time or they die because I did not have enough help. To add to the problems, I would love to tell the nin who said "hello" after dying because he kept LoS me. Then a SMN stood back behind a different wall LoS me, while we had a mnk giving the team free kills. (explain how you die 6 times in feast -.-)

I do not like the new map without chat.

I think SE will consider it a win-win over removing chat and players are still doing feast just as enthusiastic as when there were chat. Nothing has changed even with chat removal.

If you think nothing has changed you are absolutely wrong. Season 4 has been worse than Season 2. Season 2, a season where top ten players can get brand new players on their team. The amount a gold player knows is sometimes less than something people used to teach in the first 60s, and what was taught during communication in the match. I think we must be playing different game modes.

Edit: Oops, I had a bit of an aneurysm. I forgot that, "get carried" is the mode most people are playing. Without chat, I guess that mode doesn't change much.

Well, players should of boycott season 4 then to show SE it was the wrong decision.

I was glad when I first heard of the changes, pvp is really toxic. I mean its the internet of things, people grow real confidence when they are safety sitting in there computer chair. I mean there was salt before and there is still much salt, I think communication is key and I can't always get to that button that says i.e whatever (as controller player/ its just another button that I have to worry about managing), it would be so much easier and faster if I could just type what I was feeling at the moment and time. I don't play so much of ranked anymore, where is which of where most of my salt came from. I just mainly play 8v8 which is fun and fast, I don't see the reason why chat cant be brought back to that. It means nothing, just quick fun easy pvp.

Ranked matches are another thing, there is so much damage that can be done in that first 60 seconds that can be determine how the rest of the match can go. I always was salty if I had a bad run, and then got paired with the same people again the next que. Be that contribute to my level of skill as healing in the feast( which is an entirely another thread) or not, if you didn't win the feast the previous time and your team-mates feel like you were the cause of the lost. Then its straight salt for the entire match, some people won't even play(i.e throw the match and blame you as the reason) which is crazy.

There is too much testosterone in ranked, nobody says that was a pretty good match and I had fun. it's either gg that other team is trash, or we lost because party members a, b, or c are trash. This very mentality is carried into the next match, and don't let it be the exact same team members from last time. !SALT! The most toxic I want to say is doing the match if a team member dies they take those the 3 seconds to express there disdain in as many letters they can type on the screen, which can shift the flow of battle, and better yet a person's emotion which usually has negative effects on the rest of the match. Not to mention, the shift of focus, the defendant is going to make sure that there voice is heard regardless of whats going right then, and then that negative banter continues back and forth the entire match.

I would say bring it back to anything not ranked fully, not sure why it was taking away in the first place, but as far as rank, let chat exist before the matches start and after the matches end, so doing you can focus on the match when your suppose to, but still throw your salt and shade afterwards( i.e feedback). If that person dose't want to listen they can just leave which is what people do anyways. This gives a team time to make strategy in the beginning, but removes some (A little) toxic doing the match. I really do enjoy the pvp aspects of the game, and even as it is not one of the games defining features I still enjoy it LOTS, and can't see what they go in the future with it! Just my thoughts on the matter. Sorry for the essay, had no ideal the cap on characters was a thousand. O_O

In the future, just know that you can edit a post and bypass the character limit.

As for chat, I remain inflexible on it. Bring it back, no exceptions. Seriously, we're all - most of us - adults. It shouldn't take extremes like this for people to learn to behave and mind their words. Yes, losses happen, salt happens, it sucks to lose and it sucks when someone makes a critical error and costs the team. But it's no excuse to verbally berate someone, nor is it justifiable reason to just restrict chat for everyone. 85 pages of dislike for this change and SE seems to be willfully ignoring it at this point. I'm glad I boycotted Season 4. I'm not even sure I care about Season 5 now.

This is why we need the community all in on a season boycott. Numbers talk. I know people wanted their mounts, and that's fine, I won't deny them that fair chance. We don't know what Season 5 will offer, but it shouldn't matter. If we want chat back, we need to be loud and clear in sending the message that we don't want to participate in the Feast as it is now.
