Any way you think of it, that conversation must have happened because team members were there for BA. And it doesn't seem there was any backup plan for this very risky return of portals.

I think the cipher system would function better if it counts a party of players as one unit.

So a full party who all offered 1 cipher would count as 1 entry with 8 ciphers, if a solo player gets the spot instead, the full party of 8 won't get in. This would encourage people to pre-form parties outside rather than go in solo and ask for a party inside since if each person in a full party offers 2 ciphers, that would be 1 entry with 16 ciphers offered and a solo player would have to offer more than 16 ciphers to enter alone. That would be a massive currency investment just to troll people, so it would cut down on that.

Plus, if one solo player can kick out an entire party, they'd be sabotaging their own chances of progressing by trying to go in solo, which would again encourage trying to get a party up before entering.

That's a good idea. They could just cap the cipher contribution at 8, the party contribution at 8, and the individual contribution at 1. Then discords can just ask each party member to get 1. In order to snipe, they'd have to get together a group of snipers, which at that point would be coordinated sabotage.

blame square it don't give you the right to bully them out of the content they worked hard to be able to join and they did not make any mistakes they got killed by the tank that's grefing killing some one that you don't even know is going to mess up. If you do that in any other content you q up for you would get banned from game for some time this is the same thing you are qing up its a roll of the dice blame square for bad match making not blame the player who is trying to play the game with no other system but the in game system's.

the 2nd boss' tankbuser is a huge cone aoe that always gets baited outside. You literally just cant intentionally kill some random with it, without killing half of your own people. Also in that provided chatlog, when they got "insulted", all I can see are polite requests to not snipe the run. This entire thread is the worst bait ever, lmao

Nobody is defending the content. They are explaining to you the variety of players (multiple skill levels and content preferences) that actually take part in this that are being disrupted by snipers. Baffling that someone with thousands of posts on this forum has this much difficulty reading what people are saying.

The content being poorly implemented is the one thing actively unifying people in this thread.

From what I have seen a big issue is that groups tend to fill VERY quickly after being announced (I'm looking at one of the major Crystal based Discords and as of this typing, none of the currently recruiting FT groups in that Discord (at least that are using the Discord-based signup format rather than a Google sheet) have more than four open slots. All are maxed out on at least one role. None are more than two days old at time of this forum post.

In addition, among said runs only a single one is open to those fresh to the Tower.

"Semi-static" groups are not uncommon, either, meaning a lot of the groups that aren't completely fresh begin with very limited openings.

So even signing up for a group short of having to create a brand new one (thus being willing and able to take on leading the entire thing) is already legitimately iffy (especially if you work at a job where you can't just be using your cell phone willy nilly to check Discord! Heck, especially if you work at a job period, since now you're limited to groups that are when you are not at work ... which fuels the "streamers!" argument since obviously this is not a problem for folks where playing FFXIV IS their job ...).

That's a pretty big ask especially for people newer to raiding. Especially when you want to focus on learning the instance yourself and now you also have the duty of keeping track of the whole cat herd thrust upon you as well as price of admission ...

Whining about not getting into a group more or less because you aren't lucky is indicative of a systemic problem, no?

To add insult to injury, op is streaming and actually said he's snipping to piss off the 48 mans party.
