I went out with a group of six people lastnight to check area's for good leveling spot. We found one around the castle and it was going really good if you would have asked me but after about an hour or less it some how turned into a PLing part.
Now I stayed in this part and I had a great time getting free exp and talking with a few people I had just meet.
But it's not something I will be doing again anytime soon.
yeah the exp was great but it kind of took the fun out of it all and I didn't learn anything about my job that I should have been learning for when I need it the next time I party.
I really don't have a point to this I was just saying it.
I say let people play how they want to play this game because at the end of the day it's just a game.
I saw these threads... and there are plenty... and the same rants are coming out of each thread that its cheap and unfair to see someone rising through the ranks so fast.
Well the best advice I have for people is that if you do not like what is happening then don't do it and don't spam one thread then create four other threads to continually moan and whine about the situation. It makes you look like a spoiled brat. How many people need to say the same thing over and over again before you think they've heard you all?
Honestly, since the change of producers they've shown they listen to the forums and even implement what you have asked for. Yet, spamming these forums with identical topics just creates histeria and hinders their ability to help you. Get off the forums and take a nap... or read a book to calm yourself if you are really that crazed. Patience is a great virtue and I think we have shown it for the past year. Let's keep it up.
I could go to each and everyone one of the threads your talking about and see what you just posted from ten other people.
i agree that power leveling shouldn't exist in XIV, if players cannot get there levels the right way then why get them at all if your to lazy to do it yourself then don't play
You know what this reminds me of: the DRM debate. A lot of people who are for DRM claim that it's not a big deal and that it will help stop the casual piraters and whatnot, but what DRM really does is annoy paying customers and add an additional unnecessary roadblock. People who want to pirate a game will find a way to bypass your DRM anyway, so all it really does is set up this false sense of security for the company's stockholders and developers.
FFXIV the anti-RMT simulator has done little to stop RMTs as you have pointed out. It's just made their business more lucrative while hurting the customer base. I hope at some point SE will dedicate more staff to specifically going after the RMT groups and keeping their numbers down to a minimum, but unfortunately there are more pressing issues to address, such as the one in this thread.
Risui provided some good insight into the JP side of the community too. Didn't know they were as evenly divided on this issue as we are. Kinda depressing, but not surprising, as it's human nature to always look for the easiest way to do things.
Well this sucks, I guess I'll have to lvl some DoL or DoH while I wait for a response "Hopefully tomorrow" because I don't really want to partake in powerleveling myself so I'll wait for the thing to blow-over or be fixed.
Looks like for once we are on the same side of a debate. Yes, I also stopped playing for now; I won't say I'll quit the game because of it, but for now my motivation to play has taken a deep dive to the bottom.Quote:

It may sound irrational and overly dramatic, but I simply feel cheated.
I wonder how it'll be dealt with so that it's still a valid way of levelling in line with the 2-3 month model. Perhaps the xp per mob with someone much higher level will be reduced substantially, or maybe they'll include some system where only one low level can get exp from a power leveller so each person wanting to do it needs a friend to help.
No idea really, but I'm pretty confident it'll get sorted out soon. I'm all for alternative ways to level but I think this is way too much.
