Does instant transportation effect game immersion?

Today I did some sidequests that had been sitting in my journal for weeks. I basically just ported between towns and talked to a series of NPCs. It was kind of a chore. Not very fun. Not much of a "quest".

It's a combination of the teleportation problem and also the way the quests are set up (which don't take into account teleportation abuse).

No, but a lot of them don't agree that "Instant Transportation effects Immersion".

In order to finally stop this.... very long and very pointless thread, along with many others, and also to provide help to people using the word immersion incorrectly, I have created this new thread:

The explaination contained with the link provided renders this thread invalid, as it was from the start.

I dont think you can label this thread as pointless, especially with all the likes it has gotten.

And I and many others don't agree with your explanation.

If another player finds that they are truly immersed in FFXIV and you are not, so, what? They are not really immersed because you're not? It's subjective. You are a parasite and a fear monger.
