Given that I've seen dissension in game over the Greed Only rules and most of the people in my FC outright refused to run the content but never bothered to come here because it was too much hassle? Or the numerous tumblr threads I've seen in the past month and the quickly ballooning one that's celebrating the change back to the Need system? I really don't think you can call this issue a 'town crier' issue. It was an unpopular change and the sheer fact that they removed it in less than a month when it took them almost a year to negate other unwanted changes, if they did it at all, says a lot about the vitriol it caused. SE is /not known/ for rolling back on changes this quickly, if ever.

Some people actually like to get into the storylines other than the MSQ, so they do the job quests for it. As for rotations and the like, I have attempted to memorize, but due to a medical condition, I have difficulty with more complicated and complex rotations so I mess up constantly. Important jobs such as healers and tanks are not ones that I can do well, but that doesn't mean that those jobs don't have to be geared, at least a little bit.

Or if there can be a token system alongside the need/greed this wouldn't be an issue and everyone can get the gear they want.

Funny, I could call the people who didn't like "Need" the same thing.

I think they need to up the # of drops per chest. I see too many duplicate drops and drops for jobs not even in the group.

Well, it's not like "All Greed" was necessarily beneficial towards anyone really. Prepare to lot on a pair of pants that you and 7 other people are all going to Greed on and whoever has the highest RNG wins....whether that person really needed the pair of pants or not.

There's nothing quite like seeing a samurai win a lot on tanking or healing gear, only for you to check their lodestone page later and find out that said person hasn't leveled neither jobs towards an efficient level that they could even use said pair of pants for glamour or leveling purposes either way.

The process of such changes goes like this:
- Implementation; let it sit 1 week
- observe reactions and feedback in 2nd week after people got accustomed to it
- discuss appropriate changes according to that in 3rd week or even longer
- find a solution.... somewhen?

I have no clue what your problem is, but for MMOs admiting the mistake and reverting it while trying to figure something better out, that is lightspeed of adaption and customer care.

But as somene else said pages ago: They could just have taken the feedback before implementing it, since it was the same as after the Loot-Rule changes, just in even greater numbers.

If by older raids you mean ARR/HW, claiming they are used for catch up is ridiculous. Poetics gets you far better gear at 50/60. Gear in old raids is pretty well exclusively for glamour.

Which, for the community, was perfectly viable. I could be Needing on healer gear and still be turning it in. Community consensus was your need for glamour is no greater than my need for seals. It's honestly amazing how quickly the opinion on that seemed to reverse when players lost their roll advantage. If we're being perfectly honest here, ARR/HW raids could get away just fine with Greed-only, because no player there needs that gear in any sense.

To be fair, getting an entire set worth of poetics for either 50 or 60, especially upgraded, is quite the grind. There's a pretty decent chance that people would actually use those pieces of gear as an upgrade while they get more poetics from the content. Just because I've the means and patience to gear my alts to the teeth before starting an expansion doesn't mean everyone can and want to do that. A lot of people here forget not everyone's swimming at tomes and are at current SB end-game.
