Accessible Flagstone Lofts and Steps.
Items like these should not be gated behind submarines.
I'd love to have a long civilized talk with whomever decided this was a good idea.
I'd really like to see all non-wall items placeable on lofts, not just tabletop items.
Additional wish list items:
- solid color wooden lofts, luminous wooden lofts and wooden beams… that brown trim color is unmatchable!
- steps with railings matching the raw log half partitions (think there might have been something similar in one of the furnishing contest winners?); should be width of the regular wooden steps and dyeable to match the partitions
- stone lofts that are smooth/flat on top and the underside
- half height doorway partitions (with or without doors) or parted curtains that can act as a half height doorway partition
- make the log cabin wall partition dyeable
Two items of request:
1. Large Moenbryda Wilfsunnwyn portrait, similar to the other Scions.
2. Change the "Serving Barrel" from a standard furnishing a "tabletop" furnishing, that it may be placed upon tables and counters. The barrel has a serving spigot but, we're only able to place it directly on the floor, which feels odd.
Outside of individual housing furnishings, I would love to see some quality-of-life additions to the housing system. Most of which have been already asked for in the past, but never hurts to ask again.
- A "free-form" furnishing placement setting. With this setting active, furnishing snapping to walls and surfaces would be disabled with all objects having to be manually placed and adjusted, as these would also ignore their own categorized placement rules, which goes on to add ...
- The addition of a z-axis (or vertical) object placement function. Only available when using "free-form" placement. Players would be able to manually adjust the height of any furnishing they would like to use. Want to raise that bed to a raised loft without taking forever to do it? Need to make custom cabinets for your kitchen? Hankering to make a small book nook with a lower carpetted ceiling and custom scaped window? This is for you.
- Interior housing presets for houses and apartments. The ability to save a certain number housing layouts as blueprints stored locally on PCs (and maybe consoles, if possible), as well as the ability to load said layouts from the same location. Furnishing placements recorded shouldn't required all the furnishings in storage, but if a furnishing is unavailable in storage, the furnishing won't be placed at all. I suppose there would be limitations based on housing sizes due to layout differences in each size's allowed spaces, but still would be nice if one ever needs to relocate/vacate but doesn't want to redecorate from scratch.
- A few comfy rocking chairs. Okay, maybe one (or few?) individual suggestions. I know there's one pending from a past furnishing contest ... just want a few more.
I'm sure this has been suggested but I'll say it anyway. Make some wall-mounted weapons that don't require glitching on the backs of mannequins. Sure, save the fancy ones as raid drops. But give us some standard weapons to hang on the wall.
I'd love to be able to change the appearance (and the music!) of the FC workshop.
I'm not talking about using it as a room with indoor furnishings. Just keep all the functions where they are, just give us the option to change the entire look of the room. Examples of alternative themes to what we have could be: skysteel, allagan, etc.
More step and stair variations.
Tiled and mosaic designs on stairs
More spiral staircases- cast iron and stone
Bay Windows
Phasmascapes WITHOUT the giant gross border or digital lines
Indoor trees
Floral curtains
Torn curtains
More plant types
New bathtub variations- Round, wooden tubs with curtain
Toilets/ outhouse
Ishgardian decor- outdoor furnishings - snow frosted bushes and other snow covered foliage
I would like more furniture to help with screenshots like a fan to make gusts of wind or a smoke/fog machine. °˖✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧˖°
I'm still waiting for an Emperors New Light Fixture to hide the light fixture entirely (it gets in the way of making a second level in apartments and smalls)
Just let me put furnitures any place i want without limitations as long it respects its item type (tabletop, wall-mounted, etc), in order to make decorations less glitch dependent.
And let me remove housing windows.
I would like a wall-mounted frame that will display the adventurer plate of the house owner. In FC houses, display just the FC emblem.
Also, various frames of different sizes (we especially need portrait shape, but without npcs, just generic landscapes/still earth).
An ability to toggle wall snapping on/off. Why do windows snap on the factory partition? That makes no sense whatsoever.
wow a thread that has some great idea , i don't mind listing some of mind thoughts as well
1. i would love to just have a box room and have a stair case that in the wall like the small house does.
2. i would love if you have a medium houses or a small you can pay a npc to upgrade the size of the inside of the house
3. i would love to change the fix room light , given the option to remove it or move it
4. i would love to be able to float items without using other Furniture to glitch it, to move it into the walls and up in the air or lower the furniture with a coordinate setting. so if i have a water fountain i'm not going to see the carpet i put underneath it. in the water.
5. i would love to adjust furniture size because thing like the gold saucer machines and crafting profession buff furniture are a bit big and i would like to be able to make them smaller
6. i would like to be able to have all the the crafting profession buff furniture available for all size house like small house and medium homes , it help player that only want to have a small house and run a fc
7. the place item down increased for the inside and outside
8. add a dresser like they have in you inn and grand company bunker.
9. if it rain you don't have to water your plants if you there , like they have on the island
10. add a DJ mixing board to the game so we don't have to use like 5 different items
11. allow use to remove outer wall pillers , so we can have a flat wall
12. allow window to connect to wall petition not just the outer wall and wooden beam
13. i would like to have all my retainer including the ones i have purchased to be able to sell outside or inside house, not just 1 for small and 2 medium and 3 for large, i would like to have all no matter the size because upgrade a house is like impossible and i would like the npc and retainer not to be added to my place down item count. or just give use a market board item with one of the retainer pointing at it, that list the all home owner items up for sale, from all of the home owner retainer
More Wall Partition Sizes and shapes for Alpine, Oasis, Riviera, Hingan, and so on.
Currently the normal and blank partitions of these specific walls are one size only and proves challenging if you want small corners without having to glitch everything to high heaven
I provided some basic examples- reminder, these are towards the specific house partitions such as Alpine, Oasis, Riviera, Glade, Hingan, etc.

Empty Cauldron of various sizes
Unlit fireplace
Lattice partition
Round Sky Phasmascape
Borderless Phasmascapes
Change full interior of house, pillars, wall border, ceiling etc
Love all your ideas, but this one should be easy for them to do: just give fireplaces an on/off arrow! The outdoor Cold Knight’s Campfire has one, so it’s not like they haven’t done it with fire before. :)Quote:

Unless I'm missing something, it seems that out of individual fence and/or wall options that only the Oasis style fences and walls are still lacking a light at the entrance to one's plot of land?
All of the Oasis fences for a visual comparison - link is via Imgur.
In comparison, these all have lights to ultimately have one per current housing district and corresponding style:
- Glade Cobblestone Wall
- Glade Roundpole Fence
- Highland Stone Wall
- Hingan Fence (Kura-zukuri)
- Riviera Picket Wall
- Riviera Roofed Wall
- Riviera Stone Wall
While I don't anticipate this to be adjusted whatsoever, it does feel a bit disappointing to have finally gotten a house and to see that there's no lit-up fence available in the Oasis style to match the fact that there is at least one for the other district styles.
It would be nice if we could get one in the future, or more variety to these styles overall beyond the fixed/set house exteriors.
Would be nice if housing meal buffs could have their own buff that is separate from the 'Well Fed' buffs you get from regular meals. Even if the given buff from housing was purely non-combat stat increases (gear durability is already used, but desynthesis and sprint speed increase for settlements are also available), there would be a reason to actually make use of them outside of decoration.
... Also, including housing permissions that allow either guests, friends, free company members, or perhaps no one at all would be ideal alongside it.

A setting that lets us preview House skins (on our house) try before we buy basically; much like how we can preview furnishings.
I would just like to beg one more time, for a fence or house shell with full coverage snow for the yard. I like to do seasonal changes in my yard.
Indoor scattered leaves / Indoor leaf pile
Small wooden bathtub
Round skylight window
Stained glass Skylight window
Round loft (to fit round skylight windows)
Moogle house NPCs
Indoor tree roots/ overgrown gnarled tree (similar to how the cherry blossom bed looks but no bed)
Floral curtains
Weapon wall racks
Shield wall rack
Round aquarium
Small iron stove fireplace (smaller than the crystarium one)
X, Y, Z Axis placement for items to sink, float and glitch into walls, floors and other parts of the house
Windmill housing skin
Thavnair housing skin
Sharlayan housing skin
Crystarium/ Lakeland housing skin
Witch/ sorcerer house, hut
House with an overgrown plant roof and tree sticking out
Large Closed trunk/ closed chest, locked trunk (image below)
Lattice styled windows (image example below)
Box style beds (elegant/elaborate, wooden- example image below)
A bigger box/rectangle window to fit over phasmascapes. A lot of players enjoy being able to create a "window" overlooking what's on the phasmascapes, but all of the windows that you can float inside of or on to make it look like a window are SMALLER than the width and height of the phasmascapes.
Could I make the "window" portion smaller? Yes, but I shouldn't have to to get the effect I want. :( having a bigger window would help.
the whoopie cushion housing item from aloalo island doesn't make the fart sfx when you walk on it, i'm sure that's just a bug that was intended to be in the game and will get fixed soon
Not sure if this was suggested by someone previously and I apologize because I'm being pressured to share via an FC mate who I just gave this idea to lol. Typically I don't camp the forums nor do i typically worry about the housing system because to me it's completely useless and I would like to see more relevant features added to make them more appealing. I apologize if this offends as I know some people enjoy the housing system, but I do not at this time and it just feels like a redundant method to keep people subscribed.
Anyway, my idea is one of convenience. We currently have NPC vendors and the like at our houses and my idea uses a similar concept. Crafting NPCs basically. Allow players to hire NPCs that would do crafts for them so that players can choose to either craft the items themselves or let the NPC handle it. To prevent misuse of the feature however the NPCs would be restricted in what they can craft. My ideas for this is primarily a restriction system similar to retainers where their highest level is the highest level you have obtained in that same class/job. In this case these NPCs would not be able to craft anything you cannot craft yourself. This would be like quick synthesis because you cannot use that feature unless you've crafted the item before, though in this case you simply need to be high enough level to craft it for the NPC to craft it for you. Other restrictions can also be put into place as well such as not allowing the NPC to do master crafts or something that way it doesn't feel like a replacement to DoH classes. To further add to this so that it would have minimal impact on the economy in game is that these NPCs will not craft the items immediately either. Instead they will have a timer for how long it takes to craft said item, this will take some balancing to get a good fit because we want a trade off between time commitment and convenience here. Crafting the item yourself will always be much faster so that players can't just mass produce at an NPC while they go off adventuring and risk flooding the market with too many items, however crafting the items yourself would require you commit some time to that which would otherwise go to adventuring.
Basically how it would work is you simply go up to the NPC and they open a shop window with options, you select the craft you want to do and the NPC will take all the relevant items from your inventory. You can choose to use HQ items as well if you'd like as there would be a set chance for an item to finish as an HQ item and using certain HQ materials can increase that chance slightly. This may result in a higher chance for an HQ item from this feature than quick synthesis with this method however. Also to make it more interactive changes can be made to some of the furniture items that gave DoH bonuses in the past so that they can also provide bonuses to this NPC as well for their crafts.
Outdoor Garden floral garden/ flower beds of different shapes & sizes (example in picture)
IMO these can help fill in the empty spaces that are yards have
Please make the snow carbuncle from Empyreum an outdoor furnishing. And let us dye them like snow cones! lol

and for the love of all that is housing.. I'm on my hands & knees here & typing with my mind powers
Please, please fix the items wall snapping- Half the time I cannot use an item because it snaps to walls & partitions in such a violent & disgusting manner that I am nearly forced to write an angry letter, IN INK and an old parchment paper with a feather quill pen while wearing a fancy white wig
ALSO PLEASE increase item limits & give us more axis placement options that has coordinates. Up/Raise, Lower/Sink, Left, Right, rotate- let us clip everything so we can be even more creative
I would like a lot of the existing assets available in Kugane Castle to be made available for housing, or the ones in the Kugane Inn like the larger tatami floor and the doorway that's used there. I would also like an indoor bridge item.
Ysayle portrait housing item please. Why does Haurchfant have one but she doesn’t
Now that Pictomancer is confirmed, lots more art supplies please! There was a cute sketchbook that won in the furnishings contest I think, and we could use a nice little art desk, along the lines of the new botanist and secretary tables. But please make it all “tabletop” so I can put it on a lift without having to tear my house apart to float it!
