Lol... In several A4 runs today, I was averaging about 850 dps. First phase between 900-1050. The Drg, who was equally geared (except for his hive weapon) was averaging over 1000 and between 1300-1400 on first phase. Even with Hive weapon, there's no way a MCH would be able to approach that. While SMN and BLM aren't as OP as DRG, if played right, they'll still beat us handily.
Should be noted that we're probably missing DPS on our Turrets. http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...tion-Damage-II
I thought there was something fishy there (but for the wrong reason that I mentioned earlier)
Since I thought AA was effected by IAD, but it isn't.
Split Shot - 140*1.2 (168 Potency)
Average AA Potency @ 80-84
Puts AA @ Half Split shot where it measures.
But Rook and Bishop still only measure at 80 and 60 compared to 96 and 72.
Comparing MCH damage/potency to turret damage/potency is not a correct merit for determining potency.
So that 86 potency per AA value is most likely wrong.
Hotshot - 27773 damage

AA - 17690

Excluding the 8 crits from the hotshot parse and 5 crits from AA damage to get non crit averages
Hot shot - 20701 damage:591 average
AAs - 15104 damage:359 average
AA in this case is ~60.7 % of hotshot potency making it an average of 72 potency. You'll probably get more accurate values if you draw out the parse but it's easier to exlude and manually calculate noncrit averages if you do ~50 hit parses.
