I'm the physical representation of "missed opportunities". That's ok though...I make due with the ones I do snag.
Hey, WHM:
Medica II exists for a reason. Use it.
- Sincerely, an ex-WHM now WAR main.
In P11, had someone accidently rescue me across the arena to on top of the raid when I had the massive AE tank buster on me. Needless to say, the entire raid wiped and we had to start over. One of the more impressive ways to wipe a raid I must say. Everyone was dumbfounded at what just happened.
I really, really love moogle tomes. DCed for a couple minutes because we have storms where I live right now. We're halfway through Prae at Nero, I'm tanking, and I comeback right in time to see myself getting votekicked.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for speed, but I'm pretty sure you're going to spend more time waiting for a new tank on that. Shame I can't report it.
THEY DON'T EVEN NEED A TANK! They could have just finished while waiting for you to comeback. I've been there though. Had a couple times where I Dc/ed and couldn't comeback in time for it to matter. Feels like such a loss because of all the time wasted watching cutscenes you've seen enough you could recite it.
Requires more effort from the healer. I actually ran into the healer after cause I immediately queued back up and ran through castrum, and of course when I got out I see them sitting on a bench in limsa afk while I'm checking the itinerant moogle. I know I mock people for afking in limsa a bit too much, but this genuinely annoyed me. I wasn't even kicked for the purpose of speeding up a tome farm, I was kicked so someone go could back to afking in limsa.
Yuck. Sorry that happened to you, they should have given you more than just a couple of minutes. It takes time to come back from a DC. That said, don't take it personally, they probably just didn't think you were coming back. Some people don't understand how long it can take to get back in game. When my internet konks out and it takes me several minutes to reconnect, I'm honestly surprised if I haven't been kicked.
I had my co-healer disconnect in the first minute or two of Proto-Carbuncle, and they just never returned for the whole fight. We all said our GG's at the end and they were still just floating around in internet Limbo. What really sucks is I think it was their first time, too.
I love Cure 3; WHM is still my "main" healer tho' I've been playing a lot of AST as of late... but it cycles between all of them tbh.
I just see a lot of WHM just... not use Medica II like, at all. Which can be frustrating because a Medica II + Regen = basically you don't have to heal like, at all for a good 10-20 seconds.
Yeah, being a former holy priest from WoW, overhealing hurts my soul. But, it hardly means anything in FFXIV.
In fact, when I dps or tank, I frequently see the healer throwing HoTs on the party even before the pull. It's a safety net, sure.
But, it's always struck me as wasteful and bad design. Square Enix needs to reduce how fast healers regain MP. Knowing what spell/ability to use at the right time should be core to the healer role.
I mean I don't know them, so can't really take it personally. Was a bit upset though. I usually wait for people for around 5 minutes. If you're a DPS I'll wait longer cause I can just go ahead.
It's times like these where I wish I played on JP cause apparently they have codes of etiquette that people follow.
On MSQ roulette i just continue and don't votekick at all. I hope that the sad DC person can come back and happily see that we didn't kick them and progressed further so they are closer to the big rewards at the end :)
Of course that backfires if they don't come back in time.
The only exception was when someone pointed out a DPS that didn't do anything. Just here for the exp. So we kicked that person.
I love WHM but, yea, they need to do something (for starters, stop with the cushy ilvl sync!). I'm throwing out Raptures and Solaces, completely unneeded, just so I can do a Misery to break up the Holy or Glare spam. Tanks may be sitting there thinking, you don't need to solace me, what else am I gonna do.... not play healer, I suppose.
I was a Disc Priest before I discovered how amazing Druids were.
That said...talking about WoW made me remember the Glyph system and I think that would be a neat addition to 14 if able to do something similar in which we can make choices to add variants to our abilities.
I know people will meta the hell out of it but I like to be creative or go against the norm.
To the pld tank I had on an alt mnk that purposefully let me die after accidentally hitting Thunderclap on the first boss of Prae and aggroing it, then openly admitting to the mpk:
Not only do I hope you step on Legos for the rest of your lifetime, I hope you never get what you want out of savage runs, you get tiny rocks in your shoes, and I honestly hope someone does the same to you.
I wish we had something like those "Minor Glyphs" that just did little things like change the aesthetics of abilities. I WISH I COULD HAVE THIS FOR MY WHITE MAGE, OMFG!!!!
City of Heroes had the ability to not only change the animation of most abilities but also change the colors of it. Frankly City of Heroes still to date has THE BEST character creator ever. Between all the models for the character itself, the outfit, the powersets, the powers themselves, and the animations of said powers...unrivaled. Seriously the next best MMO in those terms is country miles behind City of Heroes.
I agree. It's disproportionately punishing for a MP user to die compared to any job which does not use MP. When a MP is rezzed they should have the same MP they had at their disposal when they died.
What's interesting is the shortcuts provided to characters so they can rejoin the party are spaced just enough away for them to regain their MP by the time they make it back. It's seems nonsensical and overly complicated that Square Enix rather make a character run a long distance to regain their MP than simply give that character their full MP and have the shortcut teleport them to where the rest of the party is.
Yeppers! The Lily system definitely needs some tweaks. It's awful that white mages are forced to throw out unneeded heals just to get the Blood Lily.
I'd love to see the glyph system implemented in FFXIV. Sure, players will meta it just like they meta everything else. But, it would great to have some means to customize jobs.
if you're gonna queue for event shit, remember to get some rest goddamn.
i'm sick and tired of people queueing and then being completely braindead because they've rotted out all their neurons doing ally roulette 500 times a day and just stop trying. healers who don't heal, tanks who don't tank and dps who just all stand completely still and barely do their rotations let alone mechanics.
come the f on.
Innocence in trial roulette. Should be pretty clean, right? Except one healer was a first-timer, slightly undergeared, and getting overwhelmed; and the other was, in his own words, "so f'ing high right now", barely doing anything at all and eating every mechanic that came his way. We cleared, but by the end only two people were still alive, and barely.
We almost wiped on Tower during the pillars. It was one of those "we're so absolutely sure" moments before meeting Bandit Keith and his fingun in the Shadowester Realm.
Yeah, I too enjoy it when someone joins my team on any game while being intoxicated somehow. No, you're not cool for being high or drunk or whatever. It's not funny.
Edit: Just had my first heal bot in a long time. SGE in The Swallow's Compass did 0 damage the entire run and spammed its healing spells constantly. I already get irritated when you overheal me and I'm playing WAR, but this was something else. Also, despite knowing how to spam Eukrasian Diagnosis it didn't know what Esuna was. Really, really wanted to vote kick but I already know this community isn't going to accept that.
There's a reddit post that I think that person is the same as Cincierta. When you read the screenshots, the pld comes off as an even bigger A-hole than you think. If that cutscene was so important for that pld to defend, why didn't he just ask mnk first to leave room or even better, tag boss then run outside? Truly maladjusted.
Sometimes you just eat the penalty.
[The Puppets' Bunker] - the Flight Unit(s)
Took revenge upon the wrong alliance...
- No more need to be said.
Puppet's Bunker ytd, somebody from my party did pvp lazer. They laughed in party chat. Got the other group upset.
Tank vote dismissed the griefer right after the flight unit dies, and it goes off. Another DPS insta bailed after. Maybe they're friends que'ing together.
Good riddance.
Sounds like an easy report ngl.
To my brother in Astrologian who I ran Stone Vigil with
Aspected Helios is a HoT; a heal over time. For the love of Nymeia stop spamming it as if it was Helios.
