So, I have my first true Df horror story. Did my first run of Stone Vigil tonight. 3 am, I knew the odds of a good run were not in my favor, bu t a girl can hope, can't she?

First off, shout out to the awesome Mentor Astro Healer who stuck it out in there with me. You rocked! The other two though... just, ugh.

Over here, we have Ms. Primadonna Tank who can't be bothered using any of her aggro keeping skills, and when the healer pointed out that she ought to have Shield Oath up, chewed him out and told him to "Mind His Business"

Really? Really?!

And with her, we have Miss Terribad Bard. Who did not sing a single song, or use any dots until several trash packs in and had seen me doing it.

This bard was the absolute worst dps I have ever seen. If there was floor candy, or anything else she could take damage in or die to, she did it. Didn't really seem to comprehend that maybe melee range facing mobs/bosses wasn't such a great place to be. Eventually, before the last boss, she had to be replaced due to d/cing and not coming back.

Her replacement? You guessed it, another Bard. This one was actually pretty decent. Except for one thing. I got locked out, due to watching c/s. I expected that, so it's whatever. I so wanted to yell at the person though. I'm sitting there, watching the fight through the barrier, watching the healers mp drop, and just thinking: What the hell man, sing Ballad for that poor healer!

So yeah, 3 am runs really not to be recommended. Only stuck with it for the healer, and so I could progress msq.

Decided to take a break from doing all roulettes to get the last 5 Seeds for my Deneb, and took Paladin for a whirl in Sohm Al. First two runs were effectively eventless except for a wipe to Myath because Last Song went off.

I'm almost 54. I'll go again. First pull, I find it rather odd that I get healed a bunch. Being on PS4 with a controller and muscle memory to work for you is nice because you can keep your eyes on everything at the same time. Second pull, "Wait, is that AST spamming Benefic every time GCD goes off?". Third pull, "They absolutely are".
Fourth pull (Mind, I'm level 53 then and I use these first 4 pulls before the boss to gauge a healer's ability), I pop Hallowed Ground for the hell of it. I'm at full HP. I'm taking no damage at all. Benefic, Benefic, Benefic, Benefic, Benefic, Hallowed Ground falls off. Benefic.

I pretty much spend the rest of the run blinking in disbelief every time I heard the sound effect for Benefic. Which is effectively every 2.5 seconds. Without fail. I hit level 54 from it, though.

I had to ask my healer on a Haukke run why they weren't wearing any pants.

I think you can imagine how that particular dungeon went.

Nothing bad just a bit of an odd one last night, Quarn, right at the start of the run (during first battle so not to slow everyone down) I cast stoneskin on everyone and would top up when I could. Right before the last boss, I cast on the tank and start channelling for the DPS, the tank then re-casts on himself and starts on everyone else. So I left them too it. >.> like... ok?

A special shout out to all those WHMs in M4 that thinks it's a fantastic idea to Divine Seal > Medica II > Swiftcast > Medica as soon as the Brute Justice phase begins, and then go on to blame the tanks when they take a Double Rocket Punch to the face.

Yeah, whenever I queue for expert roulette, it's usually as a healer, and my immediate reaction when I see the tank is a drk is to groan and expect the worse. I'm already used to df tanks not popping any defensive cooldowns (even in large pulls), but it seems drks are squishier than pld and war... they stand in stupid half the time... and for whatever reason they turn on darkside only on bosses, or not at all. If you can't manage your mp and have no intention of learning how, then maybe you should play a different tank. :|

I would assume those DRK's are the one's who had yet to level a tank previously but also couldn't be bothered doing 1 - 30 on gld or mrd even though you can do that in a day with very little trouble so they took the "easy route."

Two positive stories. One from last week(end) where people were saying at the end (after a learning-from-errors wipe) that they wanted to commend the whole group. Apparently my hints on the Minstrel's version of Ultima Weapon got some double-entenre laughs...

(pic was taken after we won, initially I wasn't going for laughs but got some accidentally, so my summary after we got it right was a bawdy victory lap)

Just a few minutes ago, got the complete on the raid with Odin. Picked it up early last week, got a group after a long wait, we wiped a couple of times and couldn't get replacements for the dropouts, so we had to abandon. This group stuck through three or four wipes, picked up a couple replacements as needed, and even though we had many new people we kept at it until we *all* learned the AoE patterns and what not. I had learned them the week before so I knew patience and encouragement was key.

TYVM to all of the people in the game who makes groups, even when new people screw up but are willing to get and up try again, a fun experience.

I met a machinist in the Great Gubal Library who had a full Garlond set equipped, except for the T13 weapon and the Sohm Al hat/mask/whatever, and apologized for their bad gear, saying they had horrible luck with the dungeon drops. The first boss dropped bard boots, and I said, "see, I made the dungeon drop some boots for you!". They had a good laugh about it, took and equipped them and was pretty happy about them.
Later on, the bard gloves and a bard ring dropped too, and the final boss finally dropped the bard chestpiece, making the machinist literally freak out for joy xD We had quite a good laugh about their sudden luck I seemed to bring them.

I just got out of a VA where the AST gave my boyfriend (DRG) and I (MNK) all the cards. They left as I was typing up my thank you and I never got to commend them. D:

I am so sorry to hear that. Had a really good first run of ARF, myself, as BLM.

I admitted I was new while loading in and fully expected to have at least 1 person leave right off, but instead everyone was fine with it and the DRK (the DRK, of all jobs!) said he would explain stuff as we went along.

And everything went fine, I died a few times because of stupidity and we wiped once at the last boss because stupid mechanics are bad for a BLM's health.

(Speaking of last boss, seriously, right after it's pulled, I went to slap down Ley Lines, etc, going into Enochian combo... and then the boss aims a giant AoE right over my Ley Lines.

TWICE IN A ROW.)

But yeah, it was fun and pleasant. At the end I got 2 comms, and considering I was BLM I'm not even sure what I did to deserve them, but thanks to that team, I have a tiny bit of faith in DF again. It'll probably be eradicated again soon, but oh well.

I was in VA and our alliance's tank got locked out. I was on my MNK and decided to tank the snakes. Popped all my CDs (except Blood for Blood) in an attempt to make the healers lives easier while I tanked them. It worked out pretty well, I think, considering I didn't die and I only lost aggro briefly. I guess the party thought it went well too 'cause when I left the run I got all 7 commendations. :D

Did EX Roulette just now. Got the Antitower. The SCH told me in the middle of the first boss, they didn't have leeches cause they didn't do the quest. I'm like WTF? I asked them: "Why the <bleep> do you not have leeches?". They said "Because the quest is too hard". Like, wot mate? Too hard? Come on now. If they don't have leeches then that would mean, they didn't have any of the spells after that... THIS IS A LEVEL 60 SCH! Ugh, tried dismiss, it failed so I bailed. I can't believe how lazy people are. These job quests are rediculously easy. If you have trouble, you sure as <bleep> don't level up to 60. OMG.

BTW, I wanted to make sure they were trolling, so I asked again if they seriously didn't have leeches. They said nope. So I left that group. Perks of being a tank is that I'll try again in half hour, but <bleep> son, Level 60 SCH without Leeches!

I feel bad for laughing at this. The only SCH quests I would say are even remotely difficult are the level 50 and 60 ones. Especially the 60 quest, that was awful.

A lot of healers I run into in general seem to think not healing debuffs is acceptable, and it's one of the most infuriating signs of a bad healer I have seen, right up there with not having Swiftcast. Debuffs, especially Paralysis and Heavy, can be the difference between life and wipe. I don't even care if the healer doesn't do a single point of damage, just as long as they actually keep everyone alive and cleansed of debuffs... but since this is DF, of course they can't.

Hahahaha, no. I queued for Lost City HM because I needed 125 more esoterics (~two Lost City HM runs, Antitower is meh) to have enough tomes for my 80th token for the i210 BLM relic. And guess what, I got a firsttimer bonus of 50 esos in the first run, making me skip the second run and get my relic right after the first one. Eat this, I have infinite luck.

Oh, and during that run, I completely forgot that I activated my mentor crown, and didn't explain anything. The tank pulled the bosses super early so I wouldn't have had time to explain anything anyway, but when I realised I had this crown next to my name, I felt bad for not doing my job. But in the end everyone knew what to do, that firsttimer was probably on TS with another party member or an alt or whatever, and I got two comms for ripping aggro off the tank during the last boss and apologizing for this.

But next time I should actually say something. :(

It utterly baffles me how many healers think this is fine. I'm not sure if they don't care, or they want to sit back and watch Netflix while tossing out an occasional cure when the tank goes down a bit.

Had an OT in the 50 roulette that was a know it all despite rarely if ever picking anything up. I understand if they are new to tanking, but please don't act like a know it all especially if you don't know what you are doing.

Good run! I recently ran a lost city hard and explained at the start that I would like to try a gritless run, just to see how it went and for a fun challenge. DPS and heals were all for it! It was a smooth run all the way, though I did occasionally struggle to hold agro against the DPS who were both well geared. We even had time as we mowed down bosses and enemies!

had a drg in antitower earlier that didnt use heavy thrust tho, and i was crying blood

So, I've got a couple tales to tell, both from yesterday.

The first one:
So, I'm trying to level up DRK. Fire up DF and get Halatali. The run was going pretty good until midway, when the thaumaturge decided to start pulling everything left and right. I politely ask him to let me deal with pulling the mobs, with no response and continued mob pulling from said THM. The others ask the same thing: no response other than the THM continuing to pull mobs. Finally, someone initiated a vote kick against the THM (I can't remember what the reason was, though). The vote went through, THM got kicked, and a BRD joined us for the rest of the dungeon. I wished I could have given commendations to both the healer and the Rogue for their patience in dealing with the THM.


Second one:
Ravana (hard mode) this time. I had set up a party with a friend of mine because this was my first time fighting Ravana (I had switched over to DRG for this fight). Didn't start off too well. We wiped due to too many swords the first time, then had almost three-fourths of the group drop out. Wait for a bit as more come in, then go to fight Ravana the second time. Made it past the Chandrahas attack and started wailing on him, only to wipe again. So, third time comes up. This time, we rip through the Ganas, take virtually no damage from Chandrahas, and then proceed to start dying one by one. Myself, my buddy, and at least three others are telling the second healer (my buddy was the first) to LB3, while I desperately attempt to either burn down the boss or get him away from the healer. Second healer decides to res my buddy, my buddy LB3s, and we immediately get back to work. Then came Pillars of Heaven knocking me off the platform, leaving me to watch my group utterly obliterate Ravana.
My buddy got most of the comms for the LB3, and I got 1 comm.

Today Roulette leveling gave me Stone Vigil with a tank doing big pull around.
I had luck in keep all alive and won 3 commendation, but I hate big pull x.x

And I had to use mp potion same playing as scholar and without needed to use Resurrection. Rare.

Had a group on my alt yesterday, got Halatali for roulette. Healer instantly starts whining before the gate drops about hating this dungeon, then complains that the tank is new. We get to the second pull and healer instantly chimes in "I don't want to do this vote kick me." To which we all reply then just leave so we can get a new healer. He continues moaning and crying then says "Screw it I will sit here until you kick me." So we continue without the healer, make it to the first boss, he disconnects and we pull the first boss without him. We almost manage to down the boss but the Dragoon disconnects for over a minute and the tank dies. We wipe at 3% and the healer logs back on. "Well this is taking longer than the 30 minute would have been so bye." We ended up reporting him, got a new healer and the run went smoothly after that.

I got two stories

I do my leveling roulette as SCH and I get totorak. I decide to summon Selene for debuff and the tank kept getting angry for not using esuna. I tell him politely that I cant use the skill and he starts yelling at how bad SCHs are and leaves dungeon..

Then I do the Vault, and I keep seeing this SMN doing swiftcast + Miasma II. I asked why and he simply said "for insta cast you idiot!" I didnt say anything after that...

Well, I was alone there, screen appeared asking replenishment, I clicked no and so Vote Abandon.
That 3 was from same guild/server. Perhaps only leveling and quit. Not sure.

Had a mentor smn that constantly got himself hit by Calcabrina's brace and had me double take on the party comp thinking a nonexistant bard was doing flaming arrows, it was Titan's enkindle.
I was like "wut".

I was worrying I was over "esuna"ing recently, I hate there being any poisons or paralysis on the party so get rid as soon as I can (alternating between heals obv) - I am running oom a bit quick at the mo though... but still. How do any healers not get debuff OCD?!

I really don't understand why people think the rest of the group will kick you and save you the penalty if you're being an arse. If you're going to act like that you deserve the penalty :/ glad you got a decent replacement though, always a positive to that kind of situation :P

Did leveling roulette on my budding Machinist and the Gladiator tank in Haukke Manor (regular) would Rage of Halone and Riot Blade without the combo and couldn't keep hate. Seemed to do better once I typed out the whole rotation for them but then I looked, they had a DRK at 60. How do people have a tank at 60 and yet still have a lack of understanding how combos work? I mean SURE maybe they FATEd to 60 but just. .__.

Does anyone else read this thread looking to see if they're in someone elses experience? XD Or am I the only one? :P

I dont have many bad experiences though. I queue as a tank with a heal and a dps. So we usually just get one DF dps.

I wonder if anyone ran into me in DF since I started. If so.. let me know the stories. I only have some from my point of view. Which is a shitty monk honestly.

Sadly, we are not in the same data center so we never ran dungeons together

This level 46 lancer in the Sunken Temple of Qarn. When I asked her why she's yet to unlock the dragoon, she answered, "what is a dragoon?" ;_; I mean, really!?

Some AST that kept trying to convince me AST was objectively weaker than WHM without exception, that the card system is like "gambling" and therefore anti-fun, etc... Basically just complaining about AST the whole time.
