Please Allow 50's to Enter Ishgard w/o having completed MSQ

kind of annoys me when I tell someone to watch a cut scene and then you have that other competitive person in the group saying no and the new player giving in because they don't wanna make the one person mad and I'm just like no grow a damn backbone you enjoy watching the story then do it... I can't stand the player causing the trouble and I can't stand the player unable to stand up for themselves... sorry personal rant >.>...

Actually, they actively do the opposite of encourage it. Gating Ishgard is just another example of it.

It transformed into "but what about the newbies who will have to wait an hour for trials queue."

If you got a DoH/DoL to 50, you've got enough time and capability to get a battle class to 50 and spend 2 days burning through cutscenes. Pick up a tank or healer friend for fast queues in trials (they should be more than willing to help if they're a friend, especially if they're doing a light stage on a relic). The hardest part is gearing decently if you focused solely on DoL/DoH - but if you've dropped five million gil on your forager's set, you can drop 500K on an Ilvl 90 set of gear and accessories to boost you until you get enough soldiery gear.

Up until this point they really did nothing to discourage it. Which is the basis of the op.

Sure they did, level 10 before getting new classes, leves gated behind DoW, easy travel gated behind content. Ishgard is just a stronger suggestion. That they encourage soley playing DoL is nothing more than your own intentional misinterpretation.

Funny that you went from "They encourage it" to "They really do nothing to discourage it." that quickly though.

Indeed, gating Leve access to DoH/DoL which unlocks only after a trial leve done as Battlecraft... Not a prescedence. right.

Moreso, gating Ehcatl materials and a superior XP grinding option for DoH behind literally weeks of dailies plus a distinct competence in Battlecraft certainly isn't a form of gating. Nor is it a precedence..

Oh, wait, both of those examples are.

I had a theory the other night that the only reason they are locking Ishgard behind 2.55 story is because Ishgard wont be instanced. Whenever you went into the waking sands or the raising stones it was an instanced area for you. So you would only see NPCs you've ecountered in the story when you went in those areas. Ishgard is probably going to have characters walking around that probably are assumed dead at this point. And since Ishgard isn't instanced for each player everyone can see them.

If this theory is true I kinda wish they had just put those story npcs behind a instanced area in Ishgard, so that people could get to lvl 30 and try out the new jobs.
