yes i will sub....mainly for pvp
As said...subbed 3 months but it's looking like I won't be continuing on past that: I am not impressed with end game nor seeing the willingness to improve it in a timely manner. If this was F2P, I would not be miffed but since it's sub based...well, I have played far more meatier MMOs than this. 1 dungeon and 1 raid to run for 2 months is not worth 15 bucks a month imo....well live and learn. I guess EQ Next is my last hope for a deep and meaningful MMO I crave...why do MMO devs not even try these days. :(
I made the mistake or subing one more month,
I get a lot of lag sometimes, and is not mi connection, because other mmorpg games that i play are fine.
i get 90k and other errors.
I am definitely going to sub. This is the first MMO to give me that "new" feeling in a long, long time.
That's actually pretty pathetic that only once piece of content shows any hint of challenge, and the challenge mostly coming from running coil undergeared due to crystal tower being held back from release, which was supposed to be the instance to gear up for coil. Full DL and relic or one or two pieces of allagan =/= geared for coil, its taking what you can get and making the best of it. That said, the challenge mainly comes from full party with lack of proper gear with a bit of trying to understand the mechanics.
I have a 180 day sub myself but I'm not gonna bullshit and say anything in this game is difficult.
I subbed for one month after my 15 day trial was over but I don't know if I will further.
After playing more and the magic wore off so fast I realize the structure of what the game is about. It's the little details of this game to me that are lacking, while end game dungeons/raids may be hard gone are the days where walking from area to area you would have fear. I miss walking around unsure of what a mob does , can it kill me? does it aggro? does it aggro by sight ,sound or smell? I really miss getting lost it's almost impossible to get lost in FFXIV. The areas/zones don't feel like a living breathing world to me.
Why does progression also mean just getting gear will you be making harder to unlock zones as well (sky , sea etc) What about limit breaks as well ? Af armor getting a key from hard monsters and finding a hard to find chest whats wrong with that? I'm not saying make the game exactly like FFXI but there was some strong points you guys coulda put in your new game.
i always get home from work as quick as possible just to play this
i even reduce my date with gf from weekly to every 2 weeks
that's how i'm addicted to this game
i've already subbed for 2 months
if you found the game not interesting for you, i'm sorry
but everyone's taste is different, you can't please everyone
Not subbing. Going back to Project 1999 EQ emu.
I bought the game with 1.0, so I had to sub the other week. I decided to go for 1 month to wrap up the story.
I recently hit 50, completed the story and have started exploring what there is to do at 50. The super long queue times and terrible community make the game unfun. I still have time to decide if I want to sub again, but it is looking doubtful.
Loved the game, but I'm not subbing, no content that woth $15 for me.
I have a lvl 50 Bard with Relic +1 and Dark Light Armor (no legs yet).
- Economy is horrible, you need to manage your leveling money because have no way to make more if you wasn't to up professions and try sell crafts/mats on marketing.
- Instances are boring to farm, mobs drop nothing and are strong, maybe will be more fun if mobs are weaker and have more of then. Lot of instance cutscenes and you can't skip just pressing ESC.
- I do instances only to farm DL and Relic +1. Is the only fun thing (I want to have in my char) to farm in the game for me.
- Only 3 instances at lvl 50. Just one drop lvl 50 gear with lvl 1 looking.
- No PvP.
- No craft for end game progression (craft is almost useless, just a hobby).
- Need to be stuck in a town with a party to farm Fates to level up a new class.
- Mob/Boss skill lag.
- ...and Economy is horrible.
That's the main issues for me, maybe not for the others.
Legacy player, took advantage of an even bigger discount on top of my Legacy rates and subbed for 6 months. Played 1.0 from early access until the day they shut the servers off, why the hell wouldn't I re-sub??
I'll give them a few months to a year to fix their shit, but if it's not done by then. Good bye I guess cause there's always another game on my mind that I could play.
Will most def be subbing. Haven't had this much fun in an MMO since SWG (I know, I know... I can has the old) and am no where near end game, as I haven't rushed to get there one single bit =)
The mods removed it from my sig for some reason :C

Yes i foolishly subbed an extra 60 days so i'll play them, afterwards if a lot isn't changed and fixed by then no i wont resub its honestly not worth the slog and grind..
Also which dev decided gating the story line with stupidly annoying dungeons then adding a ridiculous delay on AoEs, there is a certain place in hell left for him i'm sure.
So, it's what? 2 days to go till my free month is up and I'm still mixed on whether to continue to subscribe or not. I'm leaning heavily towards 'no', for the following reasons:
- I believe that the basic game engine is not advanced enough in this day and age and that since it forms the backbone for all game content, this is a huge problem. For the game to only register character position every .3 seconds and then to base the entire melee DPS play style on requiring strict positional needs to be met is just backwards. I suspect if I hadn't rolled a melee character first, I'd be enjoying the game more, but the amount of time I spend trying to land a hit on the back of an enemy when it's turning to cast at a ranged party mate nuking away or chasing down a moving mob while constantly 'whiffing' is just plain frustrating.
When melee is fun, it is very fun - but since a large chunk of 'early/mid end game' content in Ampador Keep involves: 1st boss who turns to cast constantly and who needs to be moved out of aoe, 2nd boss who can't be attacked from the back, rendering a large chunk of my attacks completely useless and a 3rd boss who's just plain dull (but again, punishes melee with a rear cone attack for attacking from the rear) it's just plain dull.
- Off global attacks not really being off global, but more 'slightly less global'. Yes, I get that the animations in the game are stunning and we all want to see them (hell, the whole game is beautiful), but this part of the combat system just feels clunky. Why is there no normalisation in animation lengths? I kind of like that some of the theory crafting of when to use a Dragoon Jump is based on which skill animations run for which length, so as to fit the supposed off GCD ability into the ideal frames - but it's definitely a bit weird and backwards! The lack of a skill queue system does not help at all here either - it's too easy to hammer an off GCD ability 3-4 times and for it to still fail to trigger due to animation lock.
- Crafting. My god, crafting in this game is FUN. Like, really fun, with so much potential. Since I got bored with Ampador Keep, I've been more or less exclusively crafting, and it's a really well made system. What isn't so fun is that while the act of crafting and cross class crafting skills are great, the actual rewards from the system aren't so much. I don't mind that end game crafting requires 'some' dungeon farmed tokens, but the balance is well off at the moment, considering the grind in levelling up a DoL/DoH(s) to the point where you can make them reliably. I'd much rather make crafting those items more challenging (as in needing us crafters to have access to a wide range of cross class skills in order to guarantee high quality) than just bunging a steep requirement to run more AK/CM/Prae. It's not skill based, it's just a grind that is made frustrating by my issues with melee DPS above.
On the crafting/gathering side of things as well - why I do have to solo queue with randoms through the Duty Finder if I want to do gathering/crafting leves while I wait? I'd like to run dungeons with my free company mates, but due to that the basic game system seems to be broken with regards to allocating the high level dungeons (ie 30 minute+ wait for an instance when we have a pre-formed party?!) and that you can't do gathering/crafting leves in a party, I've been left out. Either the duty finder server needs to be changed to allocate much more resource to the commonly run high level instances to remove these queues, or we need to be able to make productive use of our time while waiting that timer out. Again, I feel like I'm playing against the game when trying to gear up a DoW and level crafting.
I will not sub for now as I wait for the delay issues to be fixed (if that will ever happen..).
Went back to WoW and, enjoying it again after a very long break.
Subscribed. Because it makes fun and that is what matters. But I really hope that a lot people stop gaming. the manners in this community is the worst I've ever seen. I hope the game get's much friendlier atmosphere after all that badasses leave.
Psst. If a lot of people stop playing, the game will fail to make money and probably shut down, and you won't get to play it either.

i'll probably get troll for this but i found swtor classes a lot more interesting than what we have here and combat here seems to slow for me to like it
I am at 50/50 if going subscribe, game was fun , but so far once at lv50 just a speed run game now, and to many dps complainers and losing the fun. I am sure i will go with a one month subscription , then going need see if the new content is good. Right now it felt like they were force to make a play able game. That they did do, and made it fun for a bout a couple of weeks , but now the ugly truth is starting to show on lack of endgame content, and the way they set up there systems for how they want a community to grow. So it might be a 6 month wait till the good stuff shows up. Hope it last that long. We got the japanese market that is new to westernized mmo and there really enjoying it so should last.
didn't Yoshi say the target was 400k or so? At that point the game is considered a success. Successful subscription games lose subs a lot slower than f2p (see ffxi/wow/eve) and often accrue players by word of mouth as content grows (as patch 2.1 is set to do). Didn't Yoshi P say we had somewhere around 1.3 mill at the Japanese expo? We could afford to lose about 2/3 of the existing playerbase.
Wow. Got Aegis and Talec quick to defend the pursuit of mediocrity and obscurity. Shooting for fifth place much?
But hey, I'll let this say it for me: http://www.xfire.com/news/square-eni...at-went-wrong/
Give it a read, Aegis, Talec. SE needs to up its game big, bad and seriously, 'cause hey, too many people have stopped playing everything SE.
Any questions?
I have subscribed for 6 months! ;)
Subscribed. I know the game isn't perfect but when I think of the imperfections, I think of the things I like in comparison and also those things in the future that I'm looking forward to and it more then balances itself out in my mind. I look forward to watching this game grow and I know that won't happen without people supporting.
Subscribed for another month. I'm still having fun in the game. :)
