Sell Fantasia on the Mogstation

I agree we need something like that. I, for one, would like to play Miqote, Hyur and Lalafell, however I only need 1 character. So it would definitely help me if I could pay 20$ say each 3-4 months to change my character look !

If we are talking only FULL re-customization, then City of Heroes/Villains did.
If we are talking re-customization that included everything but gender and race, then SWG, LotRO, WoW, etc all did.

I don't mind paying. It's just like server transfers, which cost money too.
Does no harm to anyone. I wanna switch between Lalafell and Miqote when I feel like it

They're really good about responses and probably have something in the works but haven't ironed out all the details, honestly. I'm sure they plan on saying something after 2.1, and right now they're focused on transfers/2.1 announcements and content.

However, the sooner they implement it the sooner they get more money. /shrug

A Phial of Fantaisa is an item that grants a one-use appearance change. It's part of the veteran rewards system currently.

I'm looking forward to this, at least to the thought of it. I just used my bottle of Fantasia and went Lalafell from Midlander. it's not bad. he's kinda fun to play with, with the new emotes and such. I see down the road wanting to change to a taller class though. I dont expect to see a "bottle of Fantasia news" thing soon, as I'm sure they're working on the current projects and issues, but I would not be surprised to see it in the near future. hoping for a possible 2013 update for it. ^.^

They are putting Barbershop into the game at some point. Allowing changes to hairstyle, makeup, tattoos, skincolors etc.

People should imo learn to make up their mind when first creating their characters, at least in terms of gender and race. As I did when I first started out in 1.0. I created one character, logged in, played a bit, found something i didnt like, erased it and started over tweaking it.

Took about 8 hours+ just to create my Altera xD

I dunno, if a meteor that spews world ending dragons can change someones race and gender, then throwing $10 at SE for another Fantasia should be able to do it too.

So glad this has picked up, just waiting on Square now :)

I spent weeks in the character creator benchmark making the 'perfect' characters i'd enjoy playing, however the benchmark doesn't account for all the emotes, animations and feel-for you can only get by actually playing the race/gender.

I've found that as much as I like Female Miqote, I prefer Male Miqo'te or Male Highlander.

That's why people want the option to do this, you can't really get a true feel for something until you've played it for a while, enough so to come to regret your decision.

That is why I logged into the game, did various things and looked at emotes, animations, how colors looked in different lighting. When I saw something I didnt like, I logged out, erased that character, and tweaked the things I wanted to do, logged back in. I repeated that about 9 times xD

Noooooooooooo, Fantasia should be an item people can make in game with Alchemy! Would much rather being able to change looks without having to purchase a 30 day cooldown (seriously wtf? It's for aesthetics and possibly a 1 point stat boost depending)

Please please PLEASE make them available outside of Veteran rewards somehow.

I used up my Phial to change the voice of my character, but after a while the battle cries started to annoy me to no end. I have to turn off Voices to get any enjoyment out of playing melee at this point.

I don't want to be stuck with these ear-grating shouts forever. You can use the In-Game GM support function to request an Item Restore, but only if it was used/lost within the last 7 days. It has been over 2 weeks in my case, and i just read about that option 2 days ago... so i'm out of luck.

I've invested a lot of time into my character already. If you allow the option to make significant changes to your character weeks or months after it was created you need to allow it more than once. I'm not a big fan of Cash-shop stuff in MMOs if they give you an advantage in-game, but that's not the case with Fantasia

The Phial is already in-game... all it needs is an option to buy it.

PLEASE make it happen. orz

They should. Maybe not $20 but $10 sounds fair. That and server transfers would be great ... but no more. Well, ok maybe some pets for fund raising, like what Blizzard did for the Tokyo meltdown, that was really cool of them. Everything else should be added as gameplay goals for FFXIV as part of the sub.

Please don't go down this road SE. I say once a year send out a free one and once it's used you must wait a year to use it again.

But let's not go crazy. Give it a three month cooldown per character at least.

I support this! Whater 10-20... make sure to add somewhere between 30 to 90 days lockout from the service for the same character tho. To add some sense of self-control and restriction.

This would be more of a service, kind of like world transfers (which they'll charge for btw) and I don't know why people are asking that SE Big Brother it's customers and put a cooldown. . .on a race change? I mean I understand the need for a world transfer cooldown or a name change but on a race change?. . .really? that's so. . .stupid. . .I feel like my IQ has dropped just by reading suggestions like that. . .


The only thing that will lead to a "oh you done ****** up SE. . ." is if they make Fantasia Tradable, which I doubt they will and unlike world transfers or a name change, can't hinder your gameplay in anyway unless you get all ragey because the random guy cat in your FC is now a hyur girl and if that's the case then. . .maybe you should seek help. . .

We need babysitters.... plus, they could add an optional name change, a lot of people would like to compliment looks/race with name changes.. And *shrug* it sounds nice :3

Plus we should be glad to have a system like this, why should we be able to change our character look whenever we feel like? And if we do, the more we do the more money they make? Sounds kinda wrong. Characters should be permanent as they once were before. But adding some flexibility is nice. Anyway, who cares.

And yes, no tradeable Fantasia.

We definitely need CD's for Name changes but c'mon now, Race Change? I just don't see the logic in that. Like:

-World Transfers yes, people will transfer back and forth an make gil off economies, ruining gameplay.

-Name change yes, infamous people looking for a fresh start only to perform the same bad deeds on someone else and ruin their gameplay.

-Race change. . .um. . .someone wanted boobies or wanted to be a handsome stud. . .um. . .that would ruin. . um. . .I don't. . .there's no logic to it! lol

Also it's a little silly to say a business is wrong in trying to make extra revenue don't you think? All newer mmo's have the option, as a business it would be silly not to tap into some of that. I would buy some, I like fooling around with my character.

I don't get why there are people against this.

It's not a cash shop like some people claim, it's more of a service.
There is no pay to win here, and they wont be affected in any way shape or form.
We all know that game that everyone knows (and most of you loved at some point probably).
That has this option available for several years now, and I can't really recall complaints or how it affects other people either.


I think though that 20 bucks is too much, 10 seems more reasonable, perhaps make it 15 if you would like a name change with that too.
And I don't see the need for a cooldown on it either, that's just silly.

Also! It is not negative feedback, we all want the feature. We just want it implemented right so we are adding up to the -brainstorm- what we think should be taken into account as well. We can all miss things and by putting all of our ideas together and filtering what's better and worse we can then come up with a better result.

Agreed! Tho, I still wish people understood more why we ask for a cooldown on it... x.x It just wouldnt be cool if everyone could change appearances all the time... Peolpe need to understand this... if you want quick fast changes then use the hair-cut and stuff like that which they said they are adding in game XD this is for a complete remake.

This. I feel there needs to be ~some~ limitation, a high cost or a cooldown would be essential.
It's kind of disconcerting when everyone is constantly changing around you like that, ruins the -Im..-Im...-Imm.....

This needs to happen sooner rather than later.

There doesn't need to be any limitations, if somewhere chooses to purchase them obsessively it's really nobody elses business. The cost will no doubt be enough incentive to not change your race every other day as usual.

This would make a great Gil sink. Sell the Fantasia for 50,000 gil or so to keep people from changing to often. Or like previously mentioned 20$ would also work. I just don't like the idea of (after using up the Fantasia for the first month) never being able to change appearance again.

50k is....very very cheap.

I've sat sometimes on 2-3 million gil, EASILY. Quick a number of people on the legacy servers are sitting on 50-70million too.

That's 20 fantasia for 1 million. (I think). It'd need to cost a helluvalot more than that.
