Shhh or be 1017'ed in the forums as well. lol jk.
Lol I know right. I couldn't even pick my toon and it said server full lol
We complain because we hope enough people will join in so that the people at square will read our complaints and notice just how many people are pissed off about one single issue. This is the place to voice an opinion about game issues, no matter how outlandish the voice may be. The forums are for discussion and complaining. The latter usually entails beating a dead horse until it comes back to life, only to beat it to death again so that we can continue to beat the dead horse.
Are you serious? Neither me nor my wife have been able to login and play this game since the FIRST DAY OF EA. Thousands of other players regularly can't login and play, many haven't played yet at all. Thousands more are still waiting to even try to login because we can't make a fuc king character on the server where our guilds and friends are. Amazon, GMG, and SE are all either straight up refusing refunds (even on unused codes) or just deleting support tickets (SE's strategy).
This is easily in the top 3 worst launches of all time, and it may be the worst ever. It's so much worse than Diablo 3 and some of the other ones you listed, that it's laughably apologist to even have listed them. When you account for the fact it's a RE-LAUNCH and they came back BEGGING FOR ANOTHER CHANCE, it is FAR AND AWAY THE WORST LAUNCH EVER. Given the rate of improvement, once things are finally totally fixed, I think it will be beyond even a reasonable possibility of debate the worst launch in MMO history even if you ignored it's a SECOND ATTEMPT AT LAUNCHING.
I WISH I could just get a refund, because I would be so gone, and I will never touch another SE product again.
Get real. Stand up for your consumer rights. Don't pay money for crap in a box. Let failing companies fail. SE deserves to go bankrupt and be liquidated. They have been screwing up for a decade on basically everything they have touched since, what, FFX at least? We will all have our personal point where SE just started phoning it in, and they'll differ, but we all know it's true.
Give me back my money SE.
Everyone watch this and chill http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=hXH_fU6sXdY
Squeenix's secret to fixing the servers:
Wait until people just give up and quit so they don't have to spend money on more servers.
You're joking, right? Welcome to the internet. Spend a few years here, and you'll eventually learn that the majority of the people who "reside on the forums" tend to be the most vocal.
That goes for both praise AND criticism.
In this particular instance, the latter is warranted. Some of it may be over-the-top, but that doesn't mean that it's not valid.
The author of this thread apparently has no concept of how sales and customer service works. Right now SE has sold a product that is broke. In ANY other industry, they would have lawsuits abound right now. These issues were going on during nearly the entire beta process. Knowing that these issues were going on when the game was receiving the limited access as done in beta, the launch of said game should have been delayed. Instead, SE decided to continue taking people's money and release a game whose servers were clearly NOT ready and as such are facing the repercussions!
You guys should all buy my new virtual reality head set with mmo capabilities! Guarantee it will blow your mind! But when you bring it home and can't login or make it work, sorry, no refunds, we are looking for a fix.
You're mad. You have a reason to be. However, your opinions get overshadowed by your venomous way of speaking.. It's perfectly OK to be upset that you haven't been able to play.
Perhaps people would take you more seriously if you didn't type as if you were trying to burn a hole into your keyboard.
I think everyone is fed up with it lol..one day it might be fixed
Why not just start kicking people who have been afk.. ive noticed some people still sitting in the same spot for like 5 hours and not doing anything... I think that would be a huge help in the fight against not being able to log into your world..
Thoroughly angry and very unimpressed. This is not how you deal with problems. I am well aware the fix is coming in a couple days, but I have no faith that people will have an easy time logging in even when they are done.
I am incredibly frustrated with how this has been handled since Phase 4 and have given up even trying to use a product I have paid for because it is a waste of time. I am very, very unhappy and have really no other words besides those.
So, I bought Collector's Edition for both the original and 2nd launch. Early Access has always been fine, but since actual launch I've never been able to even log in to my character.
If SE would simply add complimentary game time of a week (or until they fix the servers) to all of their loyal customers, it would really do a lot for their PR. I don't mind waiting, but I DO MIND when a company simply says "Sorry, we weren't prepared and you're going to pay us for it."
I know how launch weeks are. I've been playing MMOs since Ultima Online and am well aware of how much of an undertaking it is. However, I think SE should do what is right and stay in good graces with the people who are paying to keep their lights on. It's been 4 days with no updates on the launcher, and all I want is an ETA on when I can play again.
TL;DR
Square-Enix needs to give an update on when we can log in again, AND give complimentary game time to their customers who can't access what they paid for.
I bet if the angry people controlled their rage and went to the gym, they could break a couple PRs.
I find it funny that i just jumped to an other low server and started a second Alt...
Now that server is Full with the way this is going we could never see anything above 25, if we can never log in to the servers that hold those characters. they need an endless Que line.
This is showing that the changes they made, can place this game at the top of the list of the most wanted games.
The Raging everyone is taking about is Because it is like gambling and drugs, this is an addiction. For something without a fix they can have full melt downs. :rolleyes:This is the true signs of how good a game is so Far.
I would really laugh at the person who wrote this post. Undeniable fact is that SE sold out more than 1.2 million FF14ARR one week before release and they were expecting less than 300,000 (25%) players to actually log in to their games. (and according to their technical report they wont allow more than 5000 people log in at once because the server would crash)
Its like saying you go order dinner at restaurant for 120 meals and the restaurant took your money and prepared for 30 and tell you that they only expecting 30 people show up at the dinner.
You know what is the problem? the problem is game industry so far has no regulation in public fraud, therefore they can set up whatever they want without worry to get punished by doing so.
"not prepared" is a gentle term to describe game industry lack of regulation and allowed to take your money without giving your required product. In any other real life industry if a product only satisfy 40% customers they will be forced to recall and give compensation followed by class law suit.
But in any case, its just a game. We want to play it and we can't and there is no regulation to support end users. So get over it and wait the regulations to establish. One day there will be laws state that online game industry is equally obligated laws just like other for profit industries. When you failed to give support to majority of the customers their paid services, company will be fined and CEO should go to jail. Then you will see how fast the game industry really changes their attitudes.
What makes me scratch my head is that they new about this issue well before launch, yet they didn't push the launch date back. I think pushing the launch date back rather than releasing something that's deemed "unplayable" is more forgiving in the public's eye. I mean, if they delayed the launch, they could have been completely honest about it, you know, stating that there's server issues that need to be addressed, and that the game is the best it can be on launch date. But nope. Seems to me they wanted to be shady and hope that new customers will buy the game w/o knowing about the server issues. Kind of like back in version 1.0. People think, who the hell let that game to be launched? Well, I'm sure the majority of people are thinking the same thing of 2.0 right now.
Bump for great justice.
Bump
I second that the mass must be educated!
Well I finally got to play for a while, but got kicked, now either getting lobby server error or the server list for NA/EU isn't loading, now I'm getting world full before even getting to select my character. It's getting worse not better, it's total incompetence after over a week since launch.
Well got to play for a short time and I suppose people should be grateful to actually play A GAME THEY HAVE PAID FOR, now getting lobby server error a lot of the time or it can't get NA/EU server list, finally got to see my character and guess what world full yet again without even being able to queue. It's an absolute joke after over a week since launch it's nothing but pure incompetence from SE. Why continue selling the digital download version for ages AFTER this happened knowing that these people can't play and will make matters much worse, well for money - stuff the customer, finally under pressure they've had no choice but to stop selling it. And why isn't there backup servers in case of this problem, ready and waiting to launch? Any reasonable company would be ready for this issue to arise, it's normal with an MMO release for it to be over busy, yet SE act as if they're surprised as the excuse, it's a very poor one. Oh and they've had over a week to implement a simple idle timeout which any sensible company would have included anyway which would have made the problems much better and also the queueing system is still bugged, E.g. you can't usually even queue at all or you get kicked while waiting back to square one. Everyone should be able to queue no matter how busy it is, it should be only a case of how long you have to wait to play, unfortunately it's an unfair lottery system. I've seen MMO free to play launches MUCH MUCH better than this with better announcements + support too, so there really is no excuse.
PS: Just got into a queue after literally 50+ tries, waited and now got lost connection to lobby server, back to square one yet again and even getting world full before it even loads the character screen. I really am sick and tired of this now. SE don't even seem bothered, they list login difficulties on the announcements as if they've only occurred for the occasional 15 minutes stating it's fixed now after a brief problem, IT'S NOT A BRIEF 15 MINUTE PROBLEM - IT'S BEEN A PROBLEM SINCE LAUNCH AND NOT RESOLVED! Square Enix are CONSIDERING adding 7 days of extra play time onto people's free time (well it's NOT free time, it's included time with the game). Well it is nice of them to CONSIDER this, this is the very least they should do and it should be extended further the way it's going as the problems are going into week 2. Well I suppose we can watch the intro movie again as that's all the game is worth as the moment, an intro movie and a lot of wasted time + frustration.
well I just wanna throw in my two cents from passed MMO experiences and EULAs, general rule of thumb is, by buying their game and paying their month subscription(when time comes to actually pay) you're paying to access their servers and data, which you could say you're renting your toons as they're technically the property of SE.
Well in the EULA it generally states that things can and do happen and that you wont be able to access their services and that they'd generally inform us if they notice a mass amount of players unable to user their services or they have to restrict their services(which they have said they had to because they didn't expect such a positive response to ARR) so the whole Entitlement feeling you guys have that you should be able to get on the game any time you want during the first month when the hype is really high and they didn't really have the extra servers to handle the flood of people.
So the gist is, you're not entitled to anything, this entitlement phase for people needs be kicked out. When World of Warcraft first launched, where people mad they couldn't play? well yes but they didn't go spamming forums whining because they weren't entitlistic people back then.
You bought their game, not only that, you're all playing for free, we have an entire month, A MONTH, 30 days, of playing this game, with no extra cost, on top of that we're getting extra free days, so missing out half a day or so of playing because the server is full is not going to kill you.
In point of fact if you log into mog station it says that you currently have 9 days of free play before you are charged, so no you don't have 30 days as of now, and further the game breaks more and more every day. As of 9/1 the game is more broken, after they fix Japan in one hour they just state that NA/EU is fixed when it is still broken. So we are supposed to be happy and content with the worst game MMO launch in History (I have played MMO since everquest and no game has been continually broken for over a week of servers being open with not only the originally problems not addressed fixed but new problems arising every day). Maybe you didn't purchase the re release but I paid money for CE (which I can't even register on my account which is another thing that is broken) but for those of us that paid money for our product would like to receive some sort of value for that project. For every one of these posts that are happy with a broken game you personally are standing in the way of things getting fixed. So thanks for being that guy.
Ohoho. Sir. Maybe it's just been nearly a decade and you've forgotten, but the WoW fiasco was just as legendary. Though that's neither here nor there.
It is not unreasonable for consumers to want a working service when they are paying or have paid for it. Not in the LEAST. They are inherently entitled to that as consumers. They can put in all the fine print BS that they want.
Even if it wasn't, though, SE is a business. If consumers are unhappy, they sort of stop paying for things...and when people stop paying for things, businesses fail. So it was in SE's best interest (and is still in their best interest) to operate under conditions that seem fair to consumers. The level of mismanagement here has been nothing short of insane.
The 30 days free is pretty standard for all MMOs, so yes we are already paying. We're playing for a game that a lot of people cannot access based on various things that are going on.
As for these ENTITLED people? They are the ones PAYING for the game, that's keeping it UP and running. I'm pretty sure there's no one in any game that wants to pay a sub fee to MAYBE play 1-2 times a week, and have the servers down the rest of the time (gross exaggeration). I could throw any analogy out there about things. Basically you're trusting SE to provide a service that you are paying for. If they can't, they have no right to your business. Sure people lack patience and what not, but perhaps if handled different the outcome would be better, even given the current problems.
And at the end of the day, people like to rant and will continue to rant. Every positive and negative comment seems to be a rant, whether it be at SE or the posters that are angry with being unable to access things.
But yeah, hopefully SE comes up with some compensation, explanation or something that prevents them from losing a majority of the people that were initially interested in this game. Or perhaps people are overexaggerating as always and will just shut up when it works!
My bud wants me to play that. :/ TOO MANY MMOS! :(Quote:

SO LET'S SAY, THE BLONDE IS THE POSTER AND THOSE TRYING TO ACT LIKE THE GAME IS FANTASTIC RIGHT NOW. AND Brian IS SQUARE ENIX. CONGRATS FOR BEING A TOOL.

It'd be nice to see a game that launched smoothly/smoother/not terrible. Maybe when that happens, the community involved will be decent.
Your two cents cost two cents too much. Were you a lawyer, you would realize that TOS are not legal documents and have basically no standing. They do not hold up in court because, among other reasons, it is extremely easy to prove they were never read. They give companies no rights, only excuses.
We paid money for a working game. There is none.
This is fraud.
I agree with you Xira, completely. I am a bit curious however if they plan to address the AFk issue. I know hot fixes can be sketchy and sometimes cause more issues than they are worth but as a temporary measure it could do a lot of good. IMO.
You think they would have learned that last time they tried to launch this game. Plus they were told in Beta and Headstart they needed more servers.
Guild Wars 2 got an 8/10 from me on their launch.
This game gets 1/10.
I have gotten on once this weekend at 2am that sucks
3 hours of trying to log in today. That's enough for me.
You know I was going to agree with you, until you put that moronic statement of "You're playing for Free." Funny I dropped almost 100 bucks on a game, it does NOT seem free to me. Had I a)Not dropped that money or b) They suddenly extend the included gametime to cover the days I have not been able to play...ya wont see another real complaint from me about the servers.
As for "We guessed wrong..." how could they really? They had pre-order numbers world wide, they had early access codes put in days before it started. How can you go "Ooops we made a mistake?" Did they look at the numbers "OH look we have 500,000 codes entered for early access, lets only put enough servers for 400,000 they can take it."
But really this post is pointless, much like the one above it. They screwed up with the servers, they had numbers and they tried to do the least amount of spending on servers to still run the game. They lost that bet.
