I am proud to have been a part of this endeavour since beta 1.0. You spent so much of your own money to "make it right" when other companies would shrug their shoulders and write games off. You didn't have to do it, but you did. I almost gave up hope of ever seeing this IP come to fruition but then you sent us Yoshisan on his White Unicorn to give us hope. I leave you with this quote from John Steinbeck that describes my feelings to a Tee.

"A journey is a person in itself; no two are alike. And all plans, safeguards, policing, and coercion are fruitless. We find that after years of struggle that we do not take a trip; a trip takes us."

Dear Yoshi-P and the rest of the FFXIV Team,
The demand for this game which is causing the server issues is a testament to the great job you have all done in remaking FFXIV. As a long time FFXI player, and preorder purchaser of FFXIV 1.0, I was a little disappointed with the game, but when I got into Beta Phase 2 I fell in love. I thought it was ready then! Seeing all the great changes you guys have put into the game since Phase 2 until now in such a short period of time was mind blowing! I have to say that the current FFXIV team is top notch and my hat is off to all of you.

All I kept hearing last night while playing in my groups teamspeak was "This is a very beautiful game." And we are mostly battle hardened FPS players!

I know if any team can fix the server issues, it is you. Thank you for the great world to play in.

Thankfully I've been working nonstop the last 7 days, so I could barely play anyway. Gives Square plenty of time to fix the server issues for when I get a day off. Square isn't playing around this time, XIV 2.0 wouldn't exist if they weren't serious about the game succeeding, servers will be fixed in no time, and all of the connection problems will be a distant memory in a couple weeks.

I always had faith in the project, but i just realized how much Yoshi cares about this. Thank you for this. I really feel like a child again playing this, i love it so much and i feel happy and proud to be part of this. Whatever you mean to know it or not, XIV:ARR changed a part of my life, for good.

I ended up pre-ordering two PC Collector Editions, a PC standard edition and a PS3 standard edition of FFXIV:ARR. Not because I needed the games to play, but because I very literally want to throw as much money at you guys as I could for all your hard work.

This game has got to be one of the best Final Fantasy games I have ever played.
It's also one of my now absolute favorite games in the world with A Realm Reborn.
(This is saying a lot with 25+ years of gaming under my belt!)

Thank you so much, for working SO hard and for coming so far.

I feel like everyone who plays this game is going to have a chance to enjoy something truly wonderful and make many great memories and it's because everyone worked so hard, for so long that this is even a possibility.

I've got alot of respect for Yoshi-P and the dev team. You guys took a game that I originally gave up for as dead and turned it into a game that I don't want to stop playing. You guys worked hard and it shows in the final product. Just know that you guys have my support and I see myself playing this game for quite some time. Kick-ass job!

Well. You did just that. You accomplished something many thought could not be done. Just taking on the task deserves respect in my book. Despite my problems in the first 24 hours of EA, I've had a wonderful 48 hours and counting on the game. :D

It's one of the few games I enjoy enough to actually consider paying a subscription fee. Me and my girlfriend both plan on getting the highest time cards we can. I hope having the login limit gradually increase will pacify those who think themselves to kick and scream, thinking it'll make things go faster. Lifelong FF fan hoping my time and money lead us to continuation of a series that has left its mark on gaming.

Dear Yoshi P and the amazing development team.. three words to you: keep the faith. Keep pressing and marching forward.

I appreciate the hard work and long hours you all have given to make this game. I am enjoying it very much (despite the log-in issues) and in fact it is so good that both my daughters (who played FFXI with me years ago) are quitting WoW and will be joining me in Eorzea.

Lol, these are the same fanbois who said "it's only beta" in 1.0. Sorry, this is anything but a masterpiece. Tell that to the people who purchased the game today, and cannot even create a character on any server to play the game that they just spent money on.

This is a disaster, and once again people will have already drank too much kool-aid to realize it and push for the issues that need to be addressed. These guys are not smart enough to put in a simple afk kicker, or a queue. Already people have flocked back to Gamestop etc taking full advantage of those 3 day anything goes return policies. Other people who have yet to purchase the game are definitely not even considering buying this game now. And you call it a masterpiece? Oh wait, my bad, I was supposed to say "it's only beta" here, right?

Thank you Yoshi-P and the Dev team! Well done for turning this game towards prosperity. Login issues aside, this game has been a pleasure to play. Keep a good flow of end game content and expansions and I see a bright future for ARR.

This game is the reason I bought a PS3 three years ago, and it was worth the wait. Looking forward to playing this for the next decade!

The game is great, except you cant play it unless you get lucky trying to join the world. Thats not a problem right?

Thanks for all the hard work that everyone has put into the game. I know that people must have been hard at work all day and night during the maintenance and thats a hard thing. I know that I'm not really anything compared to all the people playing FFXIV, but I didn't have a problem with any of the maintenance down time or anything and I am grateful for all the work that was/is being done. It is part of MMO's and I think this launch went pretty smooth. I love playing the game and I have already put so many hours into it. There are a few things that I think would improve the game, but over all I am extremely pleased with everything. Not to mention EVERYTHING in the game is beautiful, I have never in my life seen a more beautiful game.

Thank you Yoshi-P and dev teams that have put this together for me and so many other people to enjoy, you have done a great thing and should be proud of it.

As many people have said already; login issues aside, the game looks beautiful and plays awesome. Kudos to all the hard work everyone at SE has put into ARR.

While the NA/EU server issue is being worked out, I chose to roll a toon on a JP server and just have fun rather than casting Meteor on the Forums. Almost have her up to 20 and am on Copperbell Mines now. Maybe it isn't optimal for some but surely people can roll an alternate toon on a JP server so they can play while the NA/EU servers are straightened out.

Many people seem to have forgotten the major precedent that SE has set by choosing to completely redo the game as opposed to just letting it die and then shutting down the servers. I do not believe that any other company has done this or even thought about doing this before. Hats off to the pioneering minds at SE for choosing to go this route to begin with.

My friends and I have been following the developing news of v2.0 ever since the end of v1.0, and we're very impressed with the new level designs and all of the new things for us to do! We know the server and data center issues will get sorted out, and there's a lot of us who are waiting patiently. We're also excited to see what new things you all have in store for us in the future.

Yoshi-P - you're a man I deeply respect. And as of right now in my top 3 for game devs. Having played ffxi for several years I was so use to zero communication. I grew accustomed to this. Then you came, you fixed something everyone deemed unfixable. And better yet you were open with us fans the entire time. And to add to that you acted human. You didn't wear a fancy suit in every live letter and talked to us like a business man you came at us like a fan looking to make other fans happy. Seeing you walk onto a test live letter shaving your face cemented how much I liked you as a director.

You made me excited for Square-Enix games again. Something I haven't felt since before ff1:.

Thank you Yoshi-P, its not the game you made that makes me love FFXIV, its your attitude and utter devotion to your project that will make me a customer of yours for a long time. Producers who are willing to bare all, simultaneously praise and acknowledge other great MMO's, and be upfront and straightforward with their game design are not just rare, your the only one I know of.

You have managed to make a single MMO turn from being the worst (1.0) to best (2.0) experience I've ever had.

Fate has a sense of irony it seems. Keep up the fantastic work!

Posting to show my support and make a suggestion, personally I'm not logging in until they have the problems sorted. This is to give all the whiney kids a chance to log in, in hope of preventing them from ruining the game I have played since and through 1.0, via metacritic or bloggs or whatever, the game I want to survive.
And I suppose I'm asking or rather suggesting/recommending to anyone who actually wants the game to survive this pointless drama to do the same?

Simply wanted to make a suggestion to people with patience, who want to see the game shine.

I happened to catch a friend of mine playing FFXIV:ARR beta and she said it was 10x better than 1.0. The next phase (Phase 3) I got in! And honestly, I was expecting something that was somewhat complete. But man, I was completely blown away by how optimized the game was, and just overall stunned by the sheer scale of the world.
This game has become my new escape. Something to look forward to for tomorrow, to enjoy doing. I have that passion again, that desire to want to succeed and to make my character look awesome and run dungeons with my new friends. Games have tried that, they have come and gone but this...this feels so much more than that. So Yoshi and the whole FFXIV Development team, I want to say: Thank you. Thank you for igniting a fire that was long extinguished for MMO's. You have single-handedly restored my faith in MMO's and the PvE scene. You gave me back something that I had been missing for so long. And for that, I thank you for it.
