Definitely finding it a challenge to keep enough plates for all roles nowadays, never mind actual jobs. Bump it up to 30 asap, and work on increasing it even more over time. Every job needs a plate, minimum.

I wouldn't rely on anything said in game like that, I'm afraid.
pvp series rewards were stated on a live letter and still aren't back, in game comment feels even less reliable.

I think we should at least have one glamour plate available for every job in the game. If server space is an issue couldn't they at least let us save some glamour plates locally? Or export and import glamor plates?

I wonder, how is glamour programmed that it's such a big deal to increase the amount of available plates? One would assume that a couple of text strings would suffice, which shouldn't be an issue for space (or, at least, I think it shouldn't)

Yes please! Give us 100 glam plates because I'm tired of having to use expensive pure white, jet black and other rare dyes often if I could just have more glam plates.

At least gave it so plate can store multiple dye configs. Same items just different dyes.

Give us at least 20 plates per job. No big ui changes needed. Switch job, switch plates.

The entire system needs to be reworked anyway.

Glamour plates are functionally the same thing as gear sets, a text file with a list of gear items and their dyes. Since there's no materia, they actually have less data to store. The gear set limit was drastically increased to 100 in Endwalker, so server storage clearly isn't the problem.

I'm no developer, but I'm pretty sure the reason we still only have 20 plates is simply the UI - because they designed it with rows of numbers at the top rather than a future-proof list which could be expanded like the gear set menu. The UI guys made an oversight when designing the menu, and I guess they just don't feel like redesigning it.

That appears to be the reason at least, CBU3 is free to correct me.

This would mean that if you want a glamour plate to be shared between jobs you'd have to replicate it multiple times.

All the developers need to do is redesign the glamour plate menu to be future-proof using the gearset menu as a template. Just a simple, vertical numbered list which you can reorder and rename. It really shouldn't be hard.

Considering how much information is stored in the gearsets, and how much is removed from items when put in the glamour dresser, a gearset-like system would probably be the best solution. Have the preview on the side and the list with them

Please...glamour is an addiction and we need more spots ;-; I keep having to reuse plates

It seems kind of crazy that they use our clients to implement blacklisting, but don't use our client to implement huge glam plate libraries.
All youd have to do is get the server to sign your client glam plate with it's it's own sever side secret encoded against that char, and you can make sure no one is doing something like faking dies and gear ownership. Infinite glam plates, at no further server cost.

Imo, there should be a minimum of one plate per class.
That way all your classes can have unique looks, especially since they share gear and you may not want your warrior to also look like your pali.

A large amount of client-side data for keeping track of glams probably wouldn’t be something that can be backed up to the server alongside our other configs, but even if that ends up being the case it still might be nice to have as long as we’re aware they can’t be backed up.

Not "more", there shouldn't be a limit, or a limit high enough for it not to matter. There should be a glamour log for all the glamour in the game, 100 plates per job minimum. We're not playing on a Nintendo64, this 2025 these limitations are a disappointment in the best case scenario, and shows incompetence in the worst case.

Going to be interesting when mobile version releases, people try it and go "Why is the mobile version good but console/pc version bad ?".
PC/Console versions never going to be updated, they would have mentioned it by now, just need to comes to terms with SE isn't in the business of overhauls unless it gets new people into their ecosystem to trap with FOMO

I coulda sworn they recently said we'll be getting more plates soon, but nothing in the patch notes.

They need to just rip the bandaid off and remake the glamour system. It's like they don't want to offend the dev who originally made it or something.

Redo the code so it performs better, increase the dresser capacity, let us place a dresser in our house, and redesign the UI to support more than 20 plates. This should've happened expansions ago.

Glamour is endgame. Myself and others raid for fancy weapons and dyable gear. Myself and others grind duties and PVP to get specific set pieces. Myself and others grind gil to buy and use glamour.

There's 800 limit in the glamour dresser now and we can barely plate any of them.

This won't eliminate the issue, that you have only a limited number of slots to save a set. We still need a separate number of slots per job, not per character.
