Housing restrictions not fair for individuals.

Also I think you're overblowing this. I'm on the Greg server, which is one of the more populated servers and I am not seeing this FC creation to buy houses, in fact plenty of wards have a good amount of small plots still open.

yes it's very very unfair , i still pay the same subscription fee fc owners pay , and i spend the same or even more amount of time ingame than these fc owners . i love this game but this entire housing situation makes me mad ...

I can't speak for Leviathan but on my server we to this day have plenty mediums and larges available. Even my old medium i relocated from is up for grab. RNG timer can't be over a week can it?

You can do same things in a small. I doubt you have dozen on dozen in your house at once very often.
Why should a FC get priority over me as a individual ? I can do as much as an FC in terms of decorating it, using the house and garden.
Wherever people are storming in and out is totally unrelevant.

They already stated this is how it will be for future wards. FC and Relocation first, and Individuals after. If you want a medium for next time, best get to fighting for one of those smalls. Should really be happy you could get a house in the first place though, even if it's a small.

Indeed. Grabing a small now would be the wise thing, unless you find a medium or large that you want of course.
Next time around, who knows in 6 months or a year. You can just relocate.

Alot of FCs use the wheels because it's the only way to get the rank 3 actions.

Holy crap 6 months to a year just to get a larger house....do people not take into consideration how long that actually is? this isn't real life where we have to wait until more medium or large houses are "built" which is funny cause building a house in real life takes about 6 months to a year(depending on how much the home owners pay of course)....and you expect people playing a video game to wait that amount of time for a FAKE house? SE really needs to step its game up and fix this problem once and for all and stop putting on band aids. Either SE needs to actually put in a lot more wards then it has as in doubling what it is now or opening up new housing areas in other cities of the game because I find this quite pathetic how its been a problem since housing has been added to this game and they STILL have not resolved this. Time to rip off all those damn band aids and actually fix whats festering underneath.

He... was just giving a random time, not something that's confirmed. Judging from the previous lot, 6 months sounds about right, but they're giving the housing team a bit more focus lately so it could be sooner next time.

Oh I understand that but it doesn't take away from the rest of my post about how this hasn't been fixed and it was released in patch 2.1 which is what? TWO EXPANSIONS AGO? correct me if I am wrong or not but thats just not acceptable coming from a company like SE.

To be fair, housing was done right in 2.1. It was an FC goal as only they could purchase them at incredibly high prices (which alot of the FC worked together on buying) and the game was a bigger focus. It wasn't until 2.38 when they screwed up housing by letting individuals buy and lower the prices (because a lot of wards were bare still). Now we have incredibly entitled people who believe they deserve houses just because they believe they pay monthly for everything in the game (Which no, you don't. You pay for access to the servers. Buying the base game and expansions is paying for the trunk, not the branches). They should of just made apartments as individual homes and left it as that. FFXI shown us that apartment sized housing (hell, Mog Houses were actually smaller) is more than enough to make people happy.

Apartments and smalls should be more than enough, but nope, people only want the best because it's there. They dangled Gysahls in front of the entitled and that's what's caused this shit hole. Hell, people are quitting the game over housing which is something I'll never understand because housing should never be the main focus of a game. Also seen people refuse to buy smalls (even skipping empty plot placards in 4.1 when only smalls were left) because they only want mediums and large. They should be thankful they could of gotten a house in general.

Housing should have been instance to begin with...

Not every person plays this game (or any MMO) just to raid and get BIS gear...everyone plays their game their way..and for many it is player housing. You don't need to understand it, but you should respect it.

In my situation, I would be thankful to have any plot of any size, but I cannot.

I'm sorry, but I just can't. Mainly because this is an MMORPG, not MMOH. If you're playing purely for housing, then something is wrong. Might wanna start asking for a MMO Sims.

Edit: I'm not saying you should be wanting to raid or get BiS gear, I'm just saying you should be playing for the gameplay and social aspects, with housing as an extra. Not the other way around.

While paying a subscription doesn't entitle you to get a house (when there is more players than houses not everyody can get one anyway) it shall at least entitle you with a fair chance to get one.

Also the plot I want is a small. I don't want any large or medium. :D

If wards were empty than I see no problem with opening housing to individuals. If an individual could afford a home at the old rates, which many could. I don’t see why they shouldn’t be allowed to buy one. The issue to me it seems was lowering the prices. That ha obviously made housing available to more people than SE intended on having houses when they thought this all up. They just need to improve apartments and add gardening. You could garden in your instanced home in FF XI.

Isn't housing part of the gameplay? It may not be endgame raiding, but it is still in-game content. People pay their subscription fees to play the game how they see fit, not how you feel they should play. It's optional content just like raiding, PVP or working the marketplace. Again, you don't have to understand it (which is very apparent), but you should respect players wanting to play their game the way they want too.

Also, if you read through these forums, housing is still a very social aspect of this game.

The funny thing is: You only playing to decorate your house and tend your crops doesn't affect his or her way to play the game.

I have to admit, as someone else from Balmung, I really can't imagine how you don't see how housing is an integral and important part of the community that has been set up here and why it's so important to so many.

RPers, likely moreso than other social groups in the game, use housing an a vehicle for creating social spaces, events, and facilitating RP. I see no reason why, to that extent and reason, that housing isn't a legitimate 'endgame' for others. (and I'm not saying that social / raid FCs & Individuals don't use housing for social purposes as well. But for this particular community, it's pretty much baked in.)

Spot on! I have been playing for more than a year now and this housing fiasco is getting worst. I don’t understand how Yoshida say is fair . Existing personal house owner get to relocate and pay much less . I’m not going to resub after my subscriptions ends in a month.

I tend to sway away from the RPers. But I do see I've been too harsh in what I was saying and sorry for that. I just get a tad annoyed at how much resources and time people want spent on housing when it was only meant to ever be a side goal of the game, while the battle, story and crafting content is supposed to be the pillar. I just don't think housing should be a reason to quit, because the pillar is what gets people into the game in the first place.

Hey, guys, no fighting about it, right? Some people really dont care about housing. Some people dont care about raids. And Some people dont care about crafting. I can say that housing is a HUGE part of my enjoyment of the game, because I like to use them as an place to fool around with friends, play games and etc. So, yeah, housing is one of the pillars of the game for me. No one NEEDS to understand how i feel about it. But you do need to respect that, for some people, things that may lok "silly" for you, are serious. Its a opinion matters, so, no need to throw sticks and stones at each other.

yes , but you said '' fair chance '' which i have yet to see since i started playing this game about 9 months ago , never found an empty plot of any size on my server , only found ppl on pf trying to sell their plots for unreasonable prices .
and yeah me too at this point i don't care about the size of the plot as long as i get my own personal house .

The main complaint this time around isn't about no housing available but no large or medium plots. People need to understand that there are 6 large and 14 medium plots per ward and if you aren't one of the first logged in during a housing rush you most likely aren't getting a large let alone a medium.

I'm sorry to say but the housing changes worked whether most of you want to agree with that or not. I hope that they keep this system in place when they add additional wards in the future. The only suggestion I have for the devs are to make the FC rule more strict. The housing black market still lingers but not as bad as before the changes.

My suggestion would be to lock an fc leader who owns an FC plot into an FC for 3 months minimum to prevent FC sales. When said FC leader leaves FC or is kicked they will be unable to form a new FC or unable to inherit FC leader in a different FC for 6 months. If anyone has any suggestions to this idea I'd like to hear them.
