Balmung is a completely different universe altogether. Take any problems or wait times and multiply them by a factor of 10. That's the price that's paid for playing on the most crowded server of them all.

With all the cross server stuff they're doing now, perhaps it would be wise to transfer to another server on the same data center?

The instancing for the quest, yes. The queue to log in, no.

If you were on a smaller server, you might have gotten disconnected from the quest, but you wouldn't have to wait to log back in.

I miss Montreal......SE moved to a "better" server on the worst part of the country and couldn't even make it worth? Destroy most people's ping for nothing. Thank you SE.

Interesting thing all of a sudden on Goblin a bunch of us were finally let in to the quest around the same time.

Don't worry guys... after you beat raubaun savage your next obstacle is getting into the first SB dungeon. So far Iv tried to enter it 7 times and been kicked from the game every time and been completely booted out to the login screen once. /hurray!

I'm on one of the lowest pop servers, and there's still a queue. Not a large queue, mind you, but a queue nonetheless.

I guess at least it kicked me off the server right away instead of in the middle? And 1500 queue on Cactuar. :(

Because the server is kicking people. I wonder if this is done to help relieve the congestion. Kicking people out so people can actually get in and clear it.

810 for Midgardsormr, and the number just keeps rising. But I am seeing people either get in to the instance or just get DCed when it kicks them back. So I guess this is progress? Albeit a fairly twisted form of it.

Oh my gosh... so I finally noticed the crowd was thinning out. Yay! ... Now I've been stuck for the last 30 minutes, sitting in queue (on a lower pop server), getting DC'd when I finally make it through the queue... if I do, by some miracle, load into the game, I am then disconnected after skipping that dang cutscene. Is this happening to anyone else? My boyfriend got through and is now on his merry way... I'm still stuck, and tons of other people are as well, I'd assume, judging by the login queue.

Same scenario with me. Skip cutscene, wait a minute, Error 90006, queue up, hope that I don't get 90002 on logging in. Repeat.

Also DCing after the cutscene...

Same for those on Exodus. I got lucky enough to get through it a few hours ago, but now the FC mates are getting through it in rapid succession. UNFORTUNATELY the game is now dc'ing everybody, which may be because of the west coast players finally getting home from work.

Managed to get past the instance, and so did a lot of people in Excalibur.

I am still shocked that SE is surprised at all of this. Did they not learn from Heavensward? Sure Heavensward you could do the MSQ but they still had the problem of so many people flooding the servers and getting errors. Now we can get on but can't do the MSQ, the very thing needed to progress in this game! What is the first thing someone does in a new FF expansion? Either try the new class or do the MSQ. Hell this morning no one could even do their Job quests because everything was so broken.

I finally got in after a few hours of trying and was able to finish the instance.

Unfortunately, it seems like the entire server blew up not long after, judging from 1.7K player queue I was met with when I tried to log back in.

I'm so jealous of everybody that's getting in while i disconnect.

I can't even get to the character creation screen any more.

Made it to 2nd instance battle, finished the fights but got kicked off the server during cutscene. Hope I don't have to redo...

Got passed it, but then I dc at the next solo instance. So ah....

Zzzz been playing since launch this morning 4 am my time, it is now 9 pm.. still can't get past it. I think I might cut my losses and try again later tonight.

I dc'd as I was loading in. I probably won't bother trying again for an hour or so. I've been leveling FSH instead.

Aye, me and a friend just tried it, skipped the cut sense then got d/c and landed into a 4.3k que

Cant even get back online. All the people spamming this to get through it and subsequently disconnecting, are causing the lobby server and world queues to go ape shit.
I've made it to the loading screen a couple times only to get 90k'd anyways.

Cactaur keeps blowing up after a ton of people were able to make it past Cold Steel.

The MSQ after that is the new roadblock, it seems.

That's where I keep getting a lobby server error at. Cutscene was playing fine then I reached that point and boom, lobby server every time.

It's just back to the same error now. At least no more disconnecting at the second.

Thing is, this was predictable. Why there were not more instances created for the overload unless the new NA servers doesn't have what it takes to load that many of the same instance like "Best Served with Cold Steel", and there is a big long line. It's worse than being at the Department of Motor Vehicle, or Black Friday. Now I can't even get to the character select screen without "lobby error' over and over. Why give early access on a Friday? Weekends are the busiest game days of the week for any mmorpg in normal game play. Everyone one and their mom is on normally on weekends. It just somethings that makes me see what few little things could have been done to help a very predictable issue, that they knew was coming. Next expansion maybe I will just not bother with pre-order. Ask people to sign up for beta testing first, rather than all this mess.

OMG me too. I'm startng to have PTSD from these instances. It's like wall after wall. All I want is the story. If it is this bad in a small server, I see to see the others.

Lol guys this is what erly acsess is for its basicly a stress test the first 2 days of it is like this on any mmo unless the mmo sucks lol
