Personally I would only go for the second one the first one (and I know you say it "falls flat" ) is just a human with rabbit ears and after the massive backlash the au ta had becuse of being human with scales insted of the more draco of and demonic concepts shown they would go more with the hummingway (the smaller more bunny like) idea of the two

I'd only be OK with that if the XIV vieras were a translation of XII's, so the first concept art would be more fitting, feet included. That would also require skimpy outfits and I would expect that to go for guys as well.

Should they do that, I would totally abandon the puss life and become a happy rabbit. Would also fit my libido anyway.

SE would need to work on Miqo'te tails and Au Ra horns (especially the horns. The Filibuster hood is clipping hell for the horns) and tails first.

I think the short ones are pretty cute, so I'd be ok if they decided to only go with that one.
Best case scenario, they add both tall and short as different tribes or something.

Not that I disagree on the point of NOT having more childlike races, but I don't think we have a lot of, 'Cute Short,' races in the game as is. Lalafell (Depending on your definition of, 'Cute') and Female Au Ra. Out of the 12 possible race-gender options, only 3 fit into that category.

Aye, seconded. They set a precedent with the level of Sexual dimorphism that was used for AuRa. To balance the scales as they say, the reverse should be made an option aswell. Plenty of the male character options can look fairly effeminate, however a race in which the males of that said race are more influenced as such, would add not only a great option but be fairly unique in the mmo landcape.

However i would also like more options for the current races aswell.

A true Facial Hair option for males. This is a standard SE, it's absence is far to long running.

Separation of horn and face styles for AuRa, with the dropping of ps3 support this is much more viable.

More sub race options for all existing races, Hyur are the only examples of diversity of body builds regarding races at the moment. Why Elezen can't have Half Elves now that Ishguard is in the alliance and all their secrets laid bare is silly. It would literally be just a Hyur with pointy ears and Elezen animations. On this note the same could be said of Xaela being primed as a Matriarchal society and there Females being made exactly the same as their Raen cousins.

If the dev's don't want to design both tall and short clans, I wouldn't mind having taller females and shorter males. As long as it still looks like the concept art.

What I meant was that the only option for short races is something childlike in appearance and waifu's (which arguably automatically = cute. Especially with their emotes). If Viera were to be added and the males were to be short, I'd rather them not be childlike in appearance. That would be weirder (and possibly more off-putting) than Au Ra's.

Viera are nice and all. I would play as one if they become a thing but I think something a bit more beast like would be better. Also no children playable. That's a can of worms I would not like to see opened.

If you're talking about the viera ears, I don't think it will be a big problem. They'll just clip out of the headgear, but it's not a big deal. In fact, there's a lot of headgear items for miqo'te that I like, but it covers their ears... I'd actually wish the ears would just clip through sometimes.

In any case, I do believe there should be adjustments to clipping. Buuuut I also don't want that to stop viera from becoming a thing. Fix it in post.

As you're an Au Ra, look for someone (or ask someone you know) who has the Filibuster Hood and then try it on.

"I think we'll all live" is not an argument. SE really should fix these issues. Also, you should hold them to a higher standard than hyur with goofy bunny ears.

Wouldn't it be cool to have a new race be some sort of humanoid chimera that has grown self awareness from some high allagan city to fight back? Something that actually ties to the world and lore. Kind of like a borg from star trek that is no longer connected to the collective that has been in stasis for centuries. Something interesting like that. Just came up with that on the top of my head, surely you can be more creative. I have the benefit of the doubt with you.

idk what else you want me to say. I'd still like viera, and they have until 5.0 to fix clipping issues. If they don't do it by then, but are still planning on releasing a new race in 5.0, then I'd like viera.

I have to agree with this (though with less hostility), Viera as an XIV race irks me for two reasons (one is bad enough), A) its not an original race and would be not only lazy on the dev teams part, but lore would be so shoehorned in that it would completely take me out of the experience (lets just do away with lore and story and just make XIV the dress up ff fanboy/girl MMO, thats the impression that viera gives me), and B) of all the FF races to choose from, viera (as you said) is boring. There are so many better choices that provide unique customisation and models other than an elezen with bunny ears, I'll list some here:

This is such a completely generic idea... no thanks, I'll pass. If you want a monster race, pretty much every MMO has one. I'd prefer to have something that feels like it belongs in FFXIV.

Hilda is one such example. She is a Hyur-Elezen.

I'd rather half-breeds over shoehorned races from other games in the franchise. Roegadyn-Lalafell = Dwarf. Miqo'te-Au Ra = some kind of abomination.

Your observation skills need work, I'd like an original race too (me proposing the existing races was just showing that there are far better races), but saying that the elezen with rabbit ears is more origninal than the races I proposed is sad... your descriptions of them are also reaching (really? dwarves are skinny lalafells? (read - new skeleton, around the size of a small mi'qote with the build of a roegadyn) and comparing ivalice moogles to xiv moogles is like comparing humans to chimps). I'm not saying you have to like the ideas, but they at least build on character traits that haven't been explored before, unlike Viera.
