NOPE. This fish is stupid.

Has anyone who caught a Shoni so far done so with less than 320 perception?

7 cutter -> 1 nq mahar with 329 perc u.u

Incoming Shoni window....servers go down. Awesome!

Balmung as well... I stay up to 3 am for this window and now .... can't even log in anymore the last 30 minutes. I'm not happy.

How is your legendary farm going?

I'm guessing that the 403 gathering req for nepto dragon in the OP is incorrect? AFAIK you can't get that without FC buff if you only have supra..

My mental state increased after catching kuno, I'm at 111/112 now and only shoni is missing, though I spent every window of the past days with fishing there...


@Aldo, nepto is a legendary, it isnt intended to catch it with a supra without buff. Getting the ilvl 80 rod is the way to go

Nepto isn't intended to be caught without the new rod which (I believe) is why there are 112 fish - 6 legendaries and 106 other nonsense ones. But the 403 gathering is correct, it's been confirmed.

@Server, I'm up to 110/112 because I don't care about bonytongue and I've been trying for Shoni for the last 5 days in a row :/ Only missed 2 weathers and today is the first time I hooked one ; ;

It's also highly likely that SE have not intended for us to use melded DoW/DoM accessories and we're +5 gathering / +5 perception above the stats they are expecting us to have.

Cloud cutter have a very "hard" sound when they bite, I only hooked them and let everything else escape, which increased the number of tries per blizzard by some. If that somehow helps you

There are several posts listing Shoni catches at 384+ gathering and 421+ perception. Same goes for Mahar. I personally caught it with 387 gathering and 331 perception.

Thank you! I got really lucky, Ragnarok is notoriously expensive but there were 2 up and both for about 5.7m so I think I did well :) Gl to you, I'm sure you'll nab both the kitty and the fish soon!

Not directly related to this thread, but is up-to-date info on the new desynths being tracked/compiled somewhere? I heard Shoni desynths into Heavens Eye IV but I haven't found a proper source for it and angler doesn't have a list for it yet. I could only find info on Nepto (Savage Might IV), Endoceras (Quicktongue IV), and Ninja Betta (Assassin Fry).

The comments sections on angler can be a valuable source of information from people without the app that still want to contribute info. According to the comments Helicoprion apparently desynths into Savage Aim IV, and interestingly Allagan Silk from Blood-red Bonytongue and Allagan Wootz Nugget from Wootz Knifefish Zenith. I assume something desynths into the Kirumu Leather as well.

Just starting to get on the 2.4 Big Fish. In regards to the weather change fish, like Void Bass, going from clear to gloom, does the window only apply to the first 8 hours after the change? Or if it goes clear > Gloom > Gloom can i catch the fish in the second lot of gloom?

I tried it once with mahar: clear -> blizzard -> blizzard, I was only able to get a bite during the first blizzard, but might be bad luck

So for those fish, the timetable on the fishing site doesnt take that into account?

its wrong in the most cases, it will always shows you blizzard = green, regardless of the previous weather condition (in case of mahar)

the only usefull tool on the site is the weather report

Thanks! I'm already done with the fishing for this patch, but you never know when an extra bit of feline luck will be useful in future. :)
