Can other classes not stun? I know my lancer has had a stun ability for awhile... I'm not at this fight yet but I would think it is the same thing?
I dont get what is with all the Crying on Ifrit.
The PLD Offtank is much important then the Main tank... i Play a WAR (Almost a 50paly to) and i walk to other side of map, and get agro... then i stand there.. nothing more.. It takes no effort to hold agro to me, my job is basic.. I dont have to move the boss, i dont have to dodge things.. You just stand there.
PLD offtank on the other hand makes or breaks the group most times.
Besides... this is ONE FIGHT..
Also.. i have stunned the Erruptions as Main tank many many times on Ifrit with Double WAR's taking turns. Its not hard to do both.. Watch the Rotation.
And as others have said.. if PLD's dont want to stun on this fight.. then Why would anyone take two tanks ? Just have a WAR Main tank and a Dragoon do the 2nd stun.. Much higher DPS on the fight. as both tanks do fine being main.
2 MRDs can run this just as good as any setup, if they both know what they're doing.
The mentality that content needs to be defeated with a certain composition should go. Ifrit can be done without a BLM and PLD.
Another suggestion is you can rotate stuns through your party. 1) Leg Sweep 2) Brutal Swing etc.
Stuns like this already are off the GCD, the problem is how they cannot be cast (how any activation spell that's not on GCD cannot be cast) if you're mid-animation. This is not a mechanic in place to make it harder or more interesting, there's actually no reason for it to be like this. Especially since we don't have any EXACT timers of when bosses are about to cast spells or whatnot it means that we have to estimate and stand around not doing anything for a few seconds, because if we do one skill then the interrupt won't go of in time. It's terrible game flow, it's boring and there's no point to it.
This in no way increases the difficulty of the game and I don't see why interrupts shouldn't ALWAYS be instant cast. Making it instant cast (no matter of your current animation) could actually allow for harder difficulty interrupts, testing the players reaction time alot more (by having to actually react to it instead of standing around waiting for it a few seconds first).
how about everyone stops standing in shit then a single missed stun wouldnt kill the lot of you
