The AFK logout timer is being implemented.

I have dual monitors set up, as many other IT people do. I sometimes watch Netflix or something else on my other monitor while I play. Just because I'm not moving doesn't mean I'm not there, or even if I wasn't, who's to say I can't use my speakers and turn the volume all the way up to hear when the queue pops? Just because the DPS queues are 30 minutes long should not mean I should be forced to play for 30 minutes before I can run my dungeon. This is specifically why I said #2.

Edit: I also am not opposed to an AFK timer, in fact I'm all for it. But that doesn't mean it should be as simple as *player doesn't move/send command for 10 minutes so log them off without warning*.

I cant take the stupid anymore so either the people who do not understand how a afk timer works are ps3 people or have never played a mmo before. so let me help you understand a few things .
1 running into a wall or holding jump attack or a button down WILL NOT STOP YOU FROM BEING LOGGED OUT.
2 macros can be made but the have be do diff actions and without patterns or they will also be listed as afk.
3 if people log out you will be able to log back in cause spots will not be taken by people who are doing nothing.
If you doubt any of this go make a free wow account or any other mmo log in run into a wall jump in place your call, it will notice you afk and log you out. the timers look for 2 things no activity and repetitive actions.

It is pretty easy to set a macro to do 4-5 different thing at different intervals of time and just repeat it over and over. You would really only need to dast something wait 2 mins cast something else and wait 3 mins to start over and you would not get kicked.

I don't want an AFK timer. It's not needed anymore anyway.

Or simply ignoring the 1017, queue and everything else aside; Implementing an AFK removal system benefits square enix in the fact that bandwidth in large operations such as this are not unmetered usually. Having people logged in for hours on end when not actually using the game uses up system resources and bandwidth, the latter of which costs them additional money.
