Now that I'm actually able to see the resize after they added a direct link to the image, I think the effect looks cooler now simply because I can see a big ass flame as opposed to a grease fire.

No matter how big AM effects are...
if I blink my eyes I'll miss it anyway
Did we seriously need ANOTHER thread on this? I, as well as many in my LS, wanted a change in the spell design. What we got was a size increase. I'M FINE WITH IT!!! At least NOW, we can see our spell actually go off. The only complaints now are that 1) Spell damage is too low and 2) The animation goes away too fast.
Actually, a lot of people have complained the elemental nukes were too small and more of a "sneeze" if anything. The particle effects doesn't need to be big and flashy (they actually never were in a FF game, just tended to be multiple effects linked.)
Also I'm pretty sure the game has bigger foundation issues to worry about, this is fixing one issue with particle effects which as you can see, the bigger effects (much like bigger mobs) shows a bit more detail now.
Spells have always scaled in size in proportion to the mob. The bigger spells are no more impressive than the smaller ones.
Worthless patch is worthless. The animations are bad. Size doesn't matter.
They're hoping you forget you want better animations. They're seeing if they can make this count as a substitute for pay to play caliber graphics.
all magics look the same ... cast fire I or II is just the same animation ....
They got do all over again .... the way it is is just pathetic
Scaling in size with the mob doesn't mean that the proportional factor can't be too small. In fact, it is.
There are obviously quite alot of people that appreciate the improvement as this and other threads demonstrate. Ergo it's not worthless. The fact that something isn't what you want doesn't make it worthless.Quote:

Size matters, as it makes for an obvious visual difference.
^Yes! It's not the size that counts. It's the motion in the ocean, if you catch my drift. Quality over quantity (or size in this case).
