Rule one of Tanking any idiot can tank lol and yes other jobs can tank besides nin and pld, war for one has the base tools for tanking and can be pared with almost any job and make a tank. All jobs in turn have skills that get hate its using the skills at the right time to hold hate, thus any job can tank

i can't do this anymore. you people are the reason NA's can't/don't PUG as well as JPs. you fall in love with the IDEA of a job (usually your own personal idea, rather than the collective) and don't care about anything else, won't work around it, don't care about teamwork- only the IDEA of your own role in the party. and you cling to it for dear life. to the detriment of everyone around you.

No. PLD is focused at being the best tank- if he is not the best tank then he needs to be good at something else or whatever is being "scenario-ly" better then him needs to be nerfed.

If you want to make PLD be a little bit more beefier in the dps department then fine - but right now he sucks at everything but tanking, and to suggest someone to be better then him at that would be very poor balancing.

So either ensure other classes cant supplant PLD in his sole purpose or buff him in another purpose and it doesnt matter (because then he has more then one purpose).

Want to add cecil in FF4 would be perfect reason to buff PLD damage, cecil was a beast.. lol

(And giving him a hybrid purpose would let trade off scenarios be balanced - but being mono purposed no trade off situation would be balanced)

FF11 ninja = yes please.

Spirit animal ninja = lol no thanks. Sounds ridiculous.

The whole basis of a ninja is to stay low ("keep a low profile"), that is what they are "irl" and that is what they were meant to be in FF - except what happened in FFXI lol.

That said I think because Yoshida seems to be moving away from consumables (no scrolls) and because normally ninjas have access to small magics that you could make shadow clone an expensive spell to reapply - in such a way they could temporarily tank but never could they tank for long periods of time (out of mana = death, GCD running too many monsters attacking = death).

Also using (ninjas) them effectively would mean that you want to use your magic (mp) for other spells and only use shadow as a last resort. Furthermore using the shadow skill would use up your GCD, so you wouldn't be able to use your other skills for damage (and holding hate) - basically sub tank.

Finally I think the shadow clone skill should reduce hate (monster lost sight of you), because thats what a ninja would be doing with a shadow clone.

Fusional with rosey ffxi nostalgia goggles lol ....people made SE rip their hair off on NIN as they insisted in making it do what it was not supposed to ..nerf after nerf and people kept at it till SE gave up ..but with FFXIV engine that ain't happening ..what other FF games have NIN and how it is used in them?
