the problem is that the entire player-base, European, Japanese, and U.S. are all in game/trying to get in all at the same time, no game was designed for that kind of stress.

I can't even reach character select..........

It'd be nice if SE planned to compensate us for this massive event-fail, but I get the sinking feeling they probably wont.

The problem is that ANYONE could have reasoned that, that's what would happen, and plan accordingly.

But this is SE they do their own thing.

I just keep getting error 13001 The lobby server has timed out, never even getting to character select screen =(

Blizzard and D3 launch says hello XD
They had sales upfront and should have known how many people would log in at the same time and taken it into consideration. Did they? Nope XD
Doesnt help either that people who has quit playing XIV for month/years suddenly wants to come back for a last glimpse hehe.
