Thanks for linking, was an interesting read. Personally although I liked the systems that are in place (though of course more would have been nice) I am interested in seeing what comes of all this in the future, and it is good to see reasons behind things, including how/why they can remove the monthly subscription until they are ready as well as reasons behind some of the changes - things that occur naturally when you play but from a design decision may be missed (smaller Guilds and groups)

I thought this was interesting also - you realise just how little time they have actually been as a team particularly for someone who hasn't managed a 'big' project before. In the end, they are people doing a job with different strengths and weaknesses, rather than the robots we can sometimes take for granted, in Programmer, Modeller and Translator etc versions

To a degree, yes. That doesn't mean that there isn't some sort of baseline that we're all deviating from to varying degrees. There's being passionate about something and expressing your thoughts from that passion, and then there's making ridiculous statements, such as your expressed fears of the WoWification of the game, or that the implementation of certain interface features is an insult to everyone's intelligence.

I will add that Abriael comes off as a smug douche, though. That doesn't mean what he's saying is in error though.
