Am I the only one who thinks the Hildebrand stuff is stupid?

I know some people (mainly guys) who don't like Hildibrand and don't understand at all how most other people actually think he's funny.
For some he acts "too gay" (yay, now I know the guys I know are homophobic...-.-) and others hate him because he steals the spotlight of their own character because he acts as if he solved everything/is going to safe the world while their own character is the actual savior.
And most of the people who don't like him in this thread seem to just don't like the kind of humor he provides.
That's alright because everyone has a different kind he or she likes.
Hildibrand is the kind of humor for example many Japanese TV Shows tend to; and while it took me years to get used to it, I find it hilarious by now.
And therefore, I love Hildibrand and his assistant as well! :o

Silly joke characters are a memorable part of many Final Fantasy/SE games and I personally enjoy having one in XIV. Whether you find him funny or not is a personal opinion, but I'd also like to note that the quests seem to be getting funnier/better with each addition. As long as SE doesn't overdo the number of quests and keeps them optional I see no problem.

Also, dunno if anyone suggested this but I wanna throw out the idea of a Hildibrand/Gilgamesh side quest line!!! Rumors circulate of a wandering swordsman collecting swords from adventurers and Hildibrand is sent to investigate...

"Of today?" I take it you only just recently started watching television. You should try looking up some of the stuff from the 80's, or the 70's, or heck, even the movies of the 20's. Slapstick and cheap laughs have been popular long before recorded media, and will likely last well into the future. Now whether that's a good thing, or not, is another matter all together.

I don't really like Hildibrand either, not my type of humor, but it's all light hearted fun and his quests are completely optional with nothing really worthy to obtain so I don't think it's a big deal at all.

So you had an opinion...it's a game...it's an MMO there is variety...there are things you'll like and dislike. Why complain about it?

I can't believe I wasted life viewing this thread.

the ONLY thing i found remotely entertaining was the final quest cut scene. the rest of it was really garbage in my eyes.

I think what western ppl need is the "track laughs" to go along with Hildebrand as that's a waaaaaay overused method to make you laugh nowadays ...better yet SE needs to add a stupid reality show about Hildebrand maybe that will get these complainer's attention .. -_-;

yeah i dont find it funny either to be honest, what was the point in me doing all those quests again?
