How to fix the healer problem.

I mean, if we’re branching out to shooters and other genres, Team Fortress 2’s Medic and engineer players don’t complain about being unengaged from their roles.
And stuff like Super Monday Night Combat had zany supports (healers) that had fun gameplay. I miss playing Leo in that game. I loved my genetically resurrected Leonardo Davinci who got into televised bloodsport and skaterboi lingo.

The key difference, though, is that healers are expected to patch up the party's mistakes. And to be fair, the healer's kits are designed to do exactly that.

But dear gods do those kits fall apart into absolute boredom when there are no mistakes to fix.

I mean it's not like we're saying DPS/Tanks haven't been suffering from simplifications and losing kit interactions. BRD has two dots to manage for no real reason, MNK's Fury stacks don't actually make any sense, DRG's Mirage Dive is just a free damage button, etc.

If anything it's the same brand of simplification Healers got in ShB, DPS only started to get it more recently.

I just want it to be a little more fun.

Or in the interim let me get alt gear and I'll play it on the side to help and keep up to date at least. Job system sometimes feels pointless when I can only gear one.

I love healing in MMOs, just not XIV very much due to how boring it is in casual content. I dont wanna spam a single attack!

I empathized with the healers for awhile but when healers refuse to heal people and let them die to burns or unavoidable attacks then I can't empathize or care anymore. Healers complain they don'5 have anything to heal and when they do, they cast glare instead. Maybe this is why they made tanks have more mits since healers won't do their job anyway.

“I had some bad experience with some healers so I decided I’m suddenly fine condemning the role the being pure unmitigated garbage”

Would you like to hear about my stories of poor tanks and DPS and why that means they should also be flattened into hollow shells of the classes they once were

Uh, they kinda already did that to DPS after people kept complaining about raid buffs not being aligned in Stormblood lol. ‘One person did the thing wrong so let’s just completely dismantle that entire system and gradually replace everything with an on-the-rails button press once every 120 seconds’. Super engaging.

Like, this seems to be exactly how devs are making their decisions lol. ‘One guy had one bad experience with a Bard not using their songs, quick let’s make them all vacuous dps cool downs with a tacked on support effect’, ‘That one Summoner didn’t get 100% uptime on their DoTs better immediately delete them all and rework the entire job into ‘baby’s first job’ lol

Summoner may be a decent enough example, but the changes to raidbuffs had almost nothing to do with skill and almost everything to do with the compatibility of different jobs. No amount of skill makes your CDs that only meet up with the rest of your party's once per 6 minutes meet up any faster.

And I'll also say it again - I am glad that none of the player base is involved with game balance. It would continue to remain and grow into a worse shit show. You're "I'm gonna bitch about this here and not reply, that'll show 'em!" mentality is just complaining really with nothing more than yet another post about an issue that's already well-known to everyone involved combined with lackadaisical approach that will cause other issues.

Then you come back to bitch at others... the direct opposite of what you said you'd do.

When you have literally nothing to do in a fight, it becomes very easy to just stop paying attention to anything in the game.
